I was a marshall at the first race at Oulton Park, a bit further around the circuit, the rain came from nowhere and it was chaos all around the track. I knew the lad who got hit in the clip, he became something of a celebrity thanks to that incident!
@@rns.motorsports it’s great fun, and a pleasure to get involved in the sport I love so much. I recommend anyone who loves motorsport to give it a try! Fun, rewarding, and vital to the events.
@@CostanTheOne a similar thing happened in the F3 race earlier, causing chaos at Lodge where I was. As we were checking on the seven or eight cars in the gravel, I helped a guy called Narain Karthikeyan! ‘Mate, I don’t get your weather!’ He laughed. ‘Neither do we!’ I shrugged!!!
These are the kind of incidents that cased procedure changes, and why you don't see marshals on the track under just yellow flags. Also why drivers are instructed to stay in the car until a SC is deployed in these situations.
I think the rain is one of the best challenges for racers to tackle upon as it gives a more insight on how to control your speed and understand how much of your tires would grip on the wet roads. Along with drastically changing your current racing lines and develop a new one for wet roads.
The race at 10:45 was not a points race. It was simply an exhibition race, so the officials allowed the drivers who crashed to use their spare vehicles (the only time in NASCAR history this was allowed). Gordon ended up winning.

9:35 They're on a stretch of highway, you can see the signs and everything. A very unusual track. Also the commentator really likes to emphasis words all the time.
What I never understand is that sure the first drivers arriving at the spot can be surprised by sudden slippery, but what then everyone else plowing into the same point.
Unless there is clear indication by flags, it is just as surprising for the ones following. One of these clips, around 4:40 shows a car crashing at high speed at least 5 seconds after a red flag is waved. That is very questionable as drivers should always pay attention to flags.
'Best' is not the right word to describe in the title mate. That's like having a compilation of footage from the twin towers on 9/11 and saying here are the best bits. Its a dangerous situation in both events.

The amount of marshals and drivers running onto tracks while it's obvious everyone is aquaplaning is just ridiculous

The 2020 Xfinity Roval race deserved a spot in this video. They raced in a literal monsoon.

Amazing recreation of the Blues Brothers

Well, I guess it is somewhat informative.
To finish first you need to finish first. Always!
So, does a full course caution mean to continue driving at full speed to piledrive into other vehicles?
Yes exactly
There always seems to be someone who arrives at full speed oblivious to the danger
