I thought that it was polymerase 1 that was in charge of replacing the arn primer with dna. I don't understand the role of polymerase 1, could someone explain it to me.
In prokaryotes, by DNA polymerase I which acts as an exonuclease that can hydrolyze DNA (or RNA) in either the 3′ to 5′ or 5′ to 3′ direction, and in eukaryotes by the combined the action of RNase H, an enzyme that degrades the RNA strand of RNA-DNA hybrids, and 5′ to 3′ exonucleases.

polymerase i is only found in prokaryotes. in eukaryotes, polymerase alpha is used
