If a tree falls in the forest will it make a sound. "Plants killed by the falling tree" : Yep it made a sound. (Plants do react to sounds etc. so you should say if a sound happens in a room with no organic things will it actually make a sound is what you are supposed to ask and the answer is still yes. Since if you have the inorganic thing that pops where there is a high enough pressure wave or you have glasses there and you transmit a sound to pop em or etc. it will still interact with stuff while there is no living being.
