I had been hoping you were going to do this showdown Shane, and it didn't disappoint! I had a feeling that the Slick Stick was going to beat out the Samick Discovery. I don't own one, but I like everything I have seen about the Bodnick Slick Stick except the price! One day I'll have to breakdown and get one .... thanks for sharing this showdown, and God bless you my friend! PS glad your shoulder is doing well ... I shot a few arrows with my Penobscot bow today and surprisingly I was very close to full draw ... felt a little pain after about 15 shots, so I dropped the draw weight down to the 38lbs from the 44lbs shot about 15 more & called it a day ... a good day. So looks like maybe some light at the end of the tunnel for me!
Good deal, glad to hear you are feeling some improvement there. My bad shoulder is my bow hand. As I draw and the pressure builds, so does the pain. But it's definitely on the mend. No pain today with the 35# bows. Glad you enjoyed the vid, and take care!
@@shanepitzer4126 😵💫😆🤪😎 oh yea I saw it ... Making fun of shooting vanes! I was laughing my face off when he was speeding up that clip of me! Had me sounding like a munchkin 😂! You know I'll get him back ... Sooner than later...
Always love the vids Shane. I shoot the same bodnik in 45# @ 30" also somewhere around a 450gr arrow. So you've always delivered very relevant info for me. Have you ever shot one of the Shrews? bodnik has been making them in production. beautiful bows.. Take care, -friend from Idaho
@Shane Pitzer he has so.e great camera work. Thank you Shane yes I look through my subs about 1x per week and if someone has a channel I like to sub and support them as well take care my friend
I do some rifle shooting and reloading also, so I happen to have a chrono handy. I was curious how close some bows compare. So Ive done a few of these velocity test vids. On average the recurve bows are a bit faster than longbows of the same draw length, but those 'rules' are not carved in stone. Some archers take to the next level and are even shooting ballistic gel.
The Slick Stick has the original Whisper String from Bodnik. I think it is some kind of mix of different string material. The Discovery has a fast flight flemish twist string from Alternative Archery.

Very cool, never thought about running arrows across a chronograph 🙂👍.

interesting comparison. thank yew.
That Samick looks really sweet. How do you have the shelf setup, is that a small plunger/berger button in the riser?
It's something I cobbled together using a broken SAS rest. I did a video on it a while back, here it is:

@@shanepitzer4126 Thanks, Ill check it out!
What type of bowstring ? I have both bows tried several types and prefer B -55.

I'd like to try a slick stick at 55lbs.
It should really have the speed.
