I like the mix on this album it feels more organic than a lot of metal mixes out there nowadays. It feels like the instruments have been played by humans.
i still remember seeing marcus play at the pub up the road with his old band sound of seasons and as soon as i heard his voice i knew he had something special crazy to see this now!!!
I like this song the most because the cool beats, the smooth and beautiful singing, the emotion that this song gives me and mostly because it's a masterpiece of heavy and emotional perfectly put together.
He saw the life slip from her emerald eyes Confusion, illusion had soaked up her mind She clutched his hand, whispered her soul "I never wanted to grow so old Life’s agony, turn off the machine Let me leave this world with dignity" Just let me leave this world [Chorus] Bed of nails under the guillotine Wake me up when my heart stops beating When my heart stops beating Wipe those tears of grief away, young man Let me leave this world Let me leave this world in peace Turn off the machine, turn off the machine Let me leave this world in peace Raise me from this bed of nails And let the angels carry me away Carry me Carry me away [Chorus] Bed of nails under the guillotine Wake me up when my heart stops beating When my heart stops beating Let me leave this world.
Nick Piedra definitely. I'd attribute that to Marcus being more comfortable this time around. I could only imagine the pressure he was under when he recorded node
@@deecee8171 First off, nice name. Secondly, yeah I agree and thirdly I still think this stuff has depth, it's just a different kind of depth. Adrians lyrics are healing spiritually and marcus' lyrics heal a lot of traumatic pain. Just my 2c worth though hehehe
when i first heard this i thought it was the saddest NL song ever. but after reading josh’s explanation of the lyrics, i realized it’s also about the beauty of knowing that you’ve lived your life to the fullest and come to terms with death.
Northlane is heaps and bounds better than any 'core coming out of bands like WCAR and ASD whom went sour after their EP's... Personally I love this shiat. Their album discoveries --- probably best metalcore album of my life. Period. This is nice and I love the screams/cleans are soothing as buddy mentioned. On point.
Господи, какое же красивое и точное звучание, подходящее под тему песни. Она настолько душевная и глубокая, это поразительно, цепляет с первого же прослушивания
"wake me up when my heart stops beating". I can't tell whether this is gibberish that could have come from a random lyric generator, or if it's really profound
Definitely profound lol. It's apparently about Josh's grandmother dying. I think it could be about the guy from Architects who passed away from cancer too
Nick probably not, but the fact that this song is about someone wanting to die of old age or something equally as fucked up, and then next song is about a guy who died much younger and not actually wanting it is weirdly poetic.
Kyle Schadek yeah for sure Northlane's earlier albums were soooo much more creative an intricate then a lot of bands out at the time, they created there own style which i absolutely love. I am a huge Northlane fan, both Adrian era n now Marcus......but their musically creativity has improved n evolved from the early days n i don't think Adrian would suit the direction they were/have heading/headed
Daz B i think he's refering to "I think he truly left because he didn't like the direction they were going." in kyles comment. Back to your comment, you're so right, adrian style was more chaotic, kinda messy. This new style is more polished and more technical i would say.
Fabio Di Giuseppe This isn't deathcore though. Tesseract's vocalist does this all the time as well and it usually suits the music. But you don't do this shit in deathcore, of course. That's another story.
Sounds a lot like Adrian and Northlane for me. Both Everchanger and Stillworld are tuned to G# like Discoveries, the riffs are really similar. (not saying they lack originality or any means, they are pretty tight)
This song is absolutely devastating if you’ve ever had to watch someone you love wither away from illness. What a masterpiece.
One of the most underrated Northlane songs. Mesmer doesn't get enough love
Revisiting this song after years and I'm crying like a baby. This song is so beautiful but soo so sad
For real.
The best song on the album!
Totally agree.
nope
Man, when Marcus goes up to hit that high note near the end, the song just comes full-circle... Incredible.
2022 new album is great but Mesmer still kills and this song is tops!
Whole album is masterpiece, yet have to say Render is my favorite.
It's a tie for Render and Zero-One for me
***** yeah, really like that one too.
same
and Intuition is like Obelisk, when you focus the drums and the beat...
Northlane is mind blowing
So many people love render and zero one the most, I'm one of them too!
The whole song is amazing but the bassline in the verse is absolutely insane
I like the mix on this album it feels more organic than a lot of metal mixes out there nowadays. It feels like the instruments have been played by humans.
And yet the Instrumentalists of Northlane are not humans. How paradox.
I totally agree man, good stuff!!
This guy. This guy is either not happy today or has changed his views.
The grove of this is 👌🏼

This band is absolutely fantastic. World class. Quite possibly the best band since deftones for me
Yesterday I randomly sing this song in my mind after few hours I receive information about my grandma death. She’s suffer for a such long time
R.i.p
Sending you condolences 💐 🙏🏼
Mesmer is probably one of my favourite Northlane album, with a better mix this would be nearly perfect in my book.
This song is incredible.
He saw the life slip from her emerald eyes
Confusion, illusion had soaked up her mind
She clutched his hand, whispered her soul
"I never wanted to grow so old
Life’s agony, turn off the machine
Let me leave this world with dignity"
Just let me leave this world
[Chorus]
Bed of nails under the guillotine
Wake me up when my heart stops beating
When my heart stops beating
Wipe those tears of grief away, young man
Let me leave this world
Let me leave this world in peace
Turn off the machine, turn off the machine
Let me leave this world in peace
Raise me from this bed of nails
And let the angels carry me away
Carry me
Carry me away
[Chorus]
Bed of nails under the guillotine
Wake me up when my heart stops beating
When my heart stops beating
Let me leave this world.
Yeah those are the lyrics....which are posted in the description
@@LoneCapricorn he specified the chorus tho and broke it up where there are spaces where as the description just had it all clumped together
1:48 best part of the song...so powerful
God this song is beautiful
Best song off the album
Apparently this song was written about the death of Josh's grandmother
Voodoo yep
This song has some serious depth that their older stuff was lacking IMO
Nick Piedra definitely. I'd attribute that to Marcus being more comfortable this time around. I could only imagine the pressure he was under when he recorded node
Can't see how the old stuff lacks depth...
This one stuck out to me, great soothing song.
The part from about 2:16 is incredibly good!
Is it bad that this is my fav north lane song now
I can’t stop listening to this JAM!
when i first heard this i thought it was the saddest NL song ever. but after reading josh’s explanation of the lyrics, i realized it’s also about the beauty of knowing that you’ve lived your life to the fullest and come to terms with death.
Such an powerful and pushing song. I LOVE IT
This song has the heaviest fucking breakdown Ive ever heard. MASTERPIECE.
has been stuck in my head the last few days :)
It has been covered...
😁
FUCK THIS IS AMAZING
One of their best songs to date. Easily up there with Quantum, Dispossession, Exposure.
I really appreciate the variety portrayed within this album 🤘🏻
Northlane is heaps and bounds better than any 'core coming out of bands like WCAR and ASD whom went sour after their EP's... Personally I love this shiat. comparing Northlane to absolute mediocrity
Wow, thank you, you are so amazing)
Господи, какое же красивое и точное звучание, подходящее под тему песни. Она настолько душевная и глубокая, это поразительно, цепляет с первого же прослушивания
TODO EL ALBUM ES INCREIBLE MODERNO CON GRAN RITMO LA VERDAD LAS BANDAS AUSTRALIANAS TIENEN UN BUEN TALENTO PARA EL METALCORE
Wow was not expecting that
I love this band.
Awesome
Love this song, top 2 from the album with Citizen. Anyone else hear Dustin Kensrue (Thrice) in some the vocals?
LOVE this song so much
Mesmer´s song!
For some reason this reminds me of Funeral for a Friend. Fucking amazing.
I love this song
I’m late, and this is great.
Intro almost sounds like Impulse pt. 2
I thought the exact same
my thoughts exactly
Brad Kadou only better.
"wake me up when my heart stops beating". I can't tell whether this is gibberish that could have come from a random lyric generator, or if it's really profound
Definitely profound lol. It's apparently about Josh's grandmother dying. I think it could be about the guy from Architects who passed away from cancer too

Actually Paragon, the final song of this album, IS dedicated to Tom Searle. If you didn't know.
I knwo there's meaning behind it but the lyric itself makes no sense???
Seems like it's hopeful that there is something after death
that facetto in the end
God damn Northlane you've pissed me off but this shit is SO FUCKING GOOD. What happened to this style bros????
It’s…still there? Inamorata off the new album is exactly in this style.
Fucking love the high note at the end
oh snap, when I first heard this I actually had it on 1.25x speed. Now the original sounds off forever I am doomed
I can feel a lot of incubus here. and I love it.
ProgRocksHardly i dig your opinion
Eric Taracena I see what you did there.
Exactly I was thinking the same thing, this whole album has that slight incubus influence.
Totally
- Elimden geleni yapacağım ya da sisteme yenik düşüp yavaş yavaş nefret ettiklerime dönüşeceğim -19.02.2022
Reminds me of Sadie by Alkaline Trio
what's the tuning?
most likely drop a# with a low f on the 7th string
Trung Hua yep! Same as all the other albums
expect for discoveries and hollow existence obviously
Anyone hearing the deftones influence kind of like minerva riffs still bloody good song doe ?
Adrians style would not of suited the direction that Northlane were headed. They are musically light years ahead of where they were for Discoveries
Daz B ??? light-years ahead? I don't completely hate this but Adrian-era Northlane were inventing things, this sound has been done. it's a pass for me
Kyle Schadek yeah for sure Northlane's earlier albums were soooo much more creative an intricate then a lot of bands out at the time, they created there own style which i absolutely love. I am a huge Northlane fan, both Adrian era n now Marcus......but their musically creativity has improved n evolved from the early days n i don't think Adrian would suit the direction they were/have heading/headed
Daz B the way I see it, I think he truly left because he didn't like the direction they were going.
Where did we say he left the band for any reason Dwesk?? Uhmm no where
Daz B i think he's refering to "I think he truly left because he didn't like the direction they were going." in kyles comment.
Back to your comment, you're so right, adrian style was more chaotic, kinda messy. This new style is more polished and more technical i would say.
someone can tell me what's the name of Adrian's band right now?
He's studying Psychology. No band.
hahahahaha. Well I can recommend you trying bands like Aviana, Worldlines, Aerial and many other Singularity-esque sounding Northlane wannabes.
What is the meaning of this song?
something I would dare to call djent pop
Aleksander Vedom haha I always like when bands make you question what the hell genre it is but pull it off
djent indie. Pop uses no real instruments 99% of the time.
this is too far from pop lol
Someone's been listening to too much Tesseract lately. The emblem on the cover even looks like a tesseract.
Caleb Funderburk over here acting like the band Tesseract invented the fucking geometry of our existence lmao
Pablo Sanchez WAIT THEY DIDNT!?!?
Caleb Funderburk right? what a douchebag.
Jonathon Hancock doesn't even sound like tesseract at all. I'm a big tesseract fan.
3:03 Some teehee shit right here
Fabio Di Giuseppe This isn't deathcore though. Tesseract's vocalist does this all the time as well and it usually suits the music. But you don't do this shit in deathcore, of course. That's another story.
Fabio Di Giuseppe God. Can the 'teehee' thing just die already.. It's not even an accurate description of what the vocalist is doing.
Atlas Antarct it's called falsetto. A lot of vocalist do it. I wouldn't call suicide silences new album deathcore
this is deftones o.o ?
make sure to play the song if I'm ever paraplegic
I think this song is about Marcus' father dying...R.I.P.
I saw how many views this song has, then looked over to the right, saw Stick Stickly had ^11M views and immediately vomited
POPLANE
Danny the dog
😇🐇
I'm going to go listen to discoveries for a 80th time
kewl
Just Monica.
Deftones?
Impulse 2.0
Anthony J Lee my thoughts exactly
What heck
The sounds were really better with Node, imho
I think the opposite. This is much better than Node
İ miss adrian
Okan Bilgic Then listen to singularity??
Or Discoveries...cause you know that's still a thing.
listen to Invent, Animate if you don't know them.
They don't sound like Northlane. Only resemblance is Bens highs sound like Adrian. But yeah definitely listen to Invent..
Sounds a lot like Adrian and Northlane for me. Both Everchanger and Stillworld are tuned to G# like Discoveries, the riffs are really similar. (not saying they lack originality or any means, they are pretty tight)
Almost as big of a disappointment as the new transformers
Elisha Long bro, you're a northlane fan too?? it sure is disappointing
Mikey Money Holy shit dude! Good to see you
Elisha Long haha, you're the man, just saw your muscle building video
Mikey Money Haha thats amazing I'm seeing you here
Elisha Long likewise! Yo to everyone reading this, Elisha is the man, go subscribe!! his content is legit!
