    Sid in the man! I met him in the mid-late 90s at a local event. My era for wrestling was between 87-97. Texas Tornado was one of my favorite wrestlers, it's such a sad story. The man had a lot of talent. He was up there with Ultimate Warrior for me. Tatanka with a similar style. Miss those days of the WWF.

    It's weird they always hid that Kerry was wrestling on a prosthetic foot for most of his career. If anything it would have made him an inspirational figure and people would have gotten behind him even more than they did. But the family apparently thought it would make him look weak, and I'm sure the pain took a serious toll on him. Just another example of Fritz refusing to accept reality.

    • @HorrorFreak68
      @HorrorFreak68 6 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Trooper Galactus it wasn’t most of his career. He wrestled with the prosthetic foot from late 87 until his death in early 93. He started wrestling in 79.

    • @horus30k
      @horus30k 6 ปีที่แล้ว +6

      Good point, but most of his time as a prominent national wrestler, particularly his run as Intercontinental Champion (his run as NWA champ in 84 was arguably not as high profile as his WWF run), were post amputation. My point stands: it seems almost absurd in hindsight that they went through such lengths to hide it. I mean, WWE made a one-legged wrestler a solid babyface years later, and that was a lot harder to buy than a guy like Kerry wrestling on a prosthetic foot.

      I think it was Colonel DeBeers that pulled it off during a match in 88 in Denver or so. The fact that Kevin and Kerry both told the story that he lost it in a match at MSG for the WWF tag team belts (which would have been Demos) says that they probably would have been fine with it. But it didn't quite work out like that as we all know

      The major league front-runner happened to be Kerry, as far back as 81'. I'm quite sure Kerry was lifted during the motorcycle accident, and his habit to heavyweight narcotics (opiods)(SP) really went into overtime after the 'accident'.

    But is it a true story? Just kidding......you
    Can tell he really liked him but couldn’t escape his family name.

    What does Sid mean when he said they held the show up for $2,000?

      There were trying to get more money despite the fact that they were already receiving any money from the show which was the point of it. It was a memorial show for Kerry and any money the show makes goes to help Kerry’s family. I’ve read the story somewhere about the same situation happening.

    I'm happy to see that the character Sid played in the ring wasn't the real him.

      The man is awesome! I met him in the late 90s. He was in between WWF-WCW at the time, at a local event. Took a picture, autographs, etc. Always happy to see his fans, even at a small event like that. One of my favorites.
