  • Cambridge-based entrepreneur, Kath Austin who started her ethical food wrap company from her kitchen in 2017 is now seeking an investment of £60,000 in return for a 10% equity stake in Beebee Wraps - British made vegan and beeswax food wraps that offer consumers a reusable alternative to clingfilm and single-use plastic.
    An international sensation, Dragon's Den features entrepreneurs pitching for investment in the Den from our Dragons, five venture capitalists willing to invest their own money in exchange for equity.

    • @litigioussociety4249
      @litigioussociety4249 3 ปีที่แล้ว +6

      It's debatably slavery. It's a mutually beneficial relationship. Beekeepers protect the bees from predators, and assist them with population growth. As well, the bees don't have to produce structural comb in a box, so they are able to produce surplus honey, which the beekeeper removes. Additionally, the bees could swarm elsewhere, and they could attack the beekeeper, if they weren't satisfied. For example, if you keep African honeybees, or European honeybees that have become Africanized again, then they will resist.

      The Dragon's expertise and time are very valuable. If the Dragons don't believe the return on their investment is high enough, it's not worth their effort. The question isn't whether the Dragons can make a product more successful. That's a given. It's just that they have better investment opportunities elsewhere. I'm sure the Dragons have endless people trying to pitch ideas to them every day.

    Why is the onus of not using plastic solely on the consumer while the large manufacturers/companies easily get away with their responsibility for profit maximisation. So, I buy a packet of spices, cereals, etc. it being covered in plastic is my fault because I love plastic?
    🙄 Even if a consumer makes a conscious decision to shift to a greener lifestyle, an eco-friendly item is so expensive that it defeats the very purpose. The tipping point will never be reached.
