I love playing this solo! I find it a combo of relaxing and thoughtful gameplay. Beautiful game to look at, the art and components are excellent! Maybe I would agree more with you after I try it multiplayer. Haven't done that yet. I appreciate your solo mode reviews!
Great content Mike, loving these solo mode reviews.Gonna be picking this up for both solo mode and post covid look forward to the multiplayer.....just waiting for this to be released in the UK.
Hi Mike Nive overview of the solo version for Aquatica. I am also not the biggest fan of this kind of solo variants (beat your own score), but I do like the puzzle in Aquatica and how to squeeze the best combo- play over that timer. One MAJOR thing you need to have in consideration: there is a TYPO on the english version of the rulebook, an omission. You should put an AI manta also after doing a SCOUT, not only after playing the Matrona. This changes the timer to half time basically. The first mention I I saw was here: boardgamegeek.com/thread/2299908/article/33238460#33238460 The author also uploaded a 1.2 version of the rulebook, with this corrected and a scale over the points chart.
I'll certainly try the solo game with these adjustments, but it's highly unlikely to change my overall impressions of the solo mode, since neither of these things would impact my areas of concern. However, I definitely appreciate you bringing this to my attention, and I continue to really enjoy the multiplayer game.
@@thedicetower Yes, I know. It doesn't fundamentaly change the solo play. It only makes it quicker. I also think Aquatica shines in a multiplayer game more than solo.
Yes! Please continue this solo review series.

@@thedicetower The expansion changes the solo mode entirely, do you plan to make a video about it too?
@@JerzyMuller It's certainly something I'll consider.
Yeah I’m not a fan of beat your own score solo variants either.
Thanks Mike, you saved me $70.
It’s a shame though as I love the way the game looks.
I just have one question: How does the solo mode scale with more players?
I'm not sure I understand the question. This mode is only designed for a single player.
@@thedicetower r/woooosh
i mean.......this game is so cool ,and there is not a single publishing company to print it for the great number of fans....
what a waste....
The publisher has announced that it will be getting picked up for wider distribution in the future.
@@thedicetower Happy to hear!
I don't really understand what makes the multiplayer game that much better for you, the gameplay is exactly the same.
