This team was in legitimate playoff contention without Kirk Cousins, and Justin Jefferson. They were contending for a playoff spot with Nick Mullens, and Josh Dobbs. Between free agency, UDFA’s, and the draft, how are we not significantly better than the team that finished 7-10, that was in playoff contention without key players in key positions. How are we not a nine or 10-win team this year?

My issue with Kirk’s contract was never that it was short term it’s that we paid a guy who was roughly the 12th best guy top 3 money for years, at least if we pay JJ top money he’s the actual best player in that position and feels like value.

If our second and third string guys look weak and JV, like they did last year, it will tell us a lot. Are they deep? Can people step up? Because there will be injuries. Our team last year had zero bench strength and it really showed as the season went on.
JJ McCarthy is ready to start week one.. The tools and upside he has will elevate the Vikings for several years to come.. I think Sam Darnold will be a decent QB this year but he's here to be a mentor for McCarthy..
