Very interesting. Is there a quantity guide for horse owners? The vet is hours away from where I live and there is no clinic in sight. I have mineral oil at home just in case (I had to administer it under the advise of the vet when the horse coliced) but would love to be able to treat this way, should it be necessary.
Maybe someone could explain why you wouldn't use both? I know oil and water don't mix, but couldn't the oil coat and lube the intestinal tract while the water/electrolyte solution breaks it down?
We don't generally use both because there's no advantage to using the mineral oil in most situations, and it just makes a mess in the horse's tail and legs when it comes out. Lubing up the intestines behind the impaction doesn't do anything to help the situation, and once the system is properly rehydrated, the body doesn't need the extra lube anyway. Remember that the body (human or horse) is largely water rather than oil, so rehydrating it with water puts it back in its natural state.
Can you tel me how can I make the electrolyte solution ? Which type of salts can I use ? Can I mix the baking soda with the electrolyte solution ? And how many gram of the solution in liter of water please 🙂😇
This electrolyte solution has to be pumped into the stomach through an NG tube, as horses won't drink it. This should only be done by a veterinarian :-)
Good video! What’s in the electrolyte oil I’ve got severe constipation at the moment and most my life my poop looks like that all of the time big pellet 💩 I get most Im paction out myself but it has me in a bad place we’re I’ve damaged my heart frm years of squeezing I literally sped 45mins-60 mins having a s*^t!! Hey I too suffer from lazy bowel movements from years of eating dairy not know I was intolerant to the point even where I was working at an ice cream / smoothie store at the time and was eating it daily then had some health issues and was prescribed opiates on top of that which just caused me going poop into a hellish situation.. even now I still suffer from being healthy and only being able to use the restroom 2 (if I’m lucky) times a week and some times can go days if not weeks with pooping and it isn’t even a problem.. other than the fact it some times comes out the size of my fore arm and hard as hell.. which is why I am responding to your questions hoping to see if you ever got an explanation or an answer to your question about what’s in the electrolyte solution or if you yourself have any other recommendations as to help ease a hard, large, and very slow moving constipation that I too myself have to take care of most of the time digitally but not always so any advice will help Thanks!
I sure wish that you had a practice near here
The poop Master! Great video, keep them coming. You're good at this! Cameraman good too.

We use a small palmful of regular salt, same of potassium chloride, same of baking soda, and three cups of Epsom salt added to three gallons of water.
@@SpringhillEquineVet Thank you!
