Definitely more salt. In winter I give my horses loose salt and it helps them to drink more. The loose salt over a salt block has Definitely improved water intake. We haven't had any impaction colic in many years.
A warm, thick horse rug plonked on a freezing cold horse just dragged outa a frozen pond/lake ...is that a bad idea ? Surely , because the air is alittle warmer than the ice its just got out of, means the horse has to adjust alittle to the temperature ? Its already in shock. ?? Any opinion welcome. (By the way i dont have a horse but im sensible as i can try to be...)
So what's your opinion on how a horse should be treated immediately after being rescued from icy water ? Surely rubbing them down with hay or straw would bring up their crculation...and what about horse rugs ...???

Thank you so much for making this video and being so clear about what you’re doing. Also, I love all your green colors.
Probably the warmest place you could put your hands in that weather. 😂
Just had this done to my 24 year old boy, still waiting for a poop, fingers crossed.
What an incredible video! This is so interesting.
You are so knowledgable and caring
The “side eye” he gave @3:53 made me laugh a bit!😂He’s like what is going to happen next? Poor horsey….🤒🐴
Great care of the horse and hope he does well
I have always added some salt to my horses feed in the winter months. I also have used Forco in their feed for years.
Great outcome.

Colic is very serious and can be fatal. But I also think that some vets are to quick to want to put your horse down...
Thankyou ♥️🌸
Warm water in colder weather often works.
Is the loose salt, just table salt?
Is hyperventilating a common symptom of colic in a older horse?
Hyperventilating is a sign of pain
Just saw a horse put down today - no tubing done. Really sad.
Good morning mam
