Thanks to Frank for having me.along with my GT3, which has now 75k miles. DSC module is brilliant for compliancy and the Tractive has been superb. The Brooke Race exhaust is superb and is a full system by the Inconel and saves 30kgs. The BBS alloys save 11kgs unsprung (66kgs as 6 times sprung). Also has a reverse camera…..
Finally got the time to watch this - great to hear James’ stories about the evolution of this tremendous car. Driven, not hidden 👌 May you have many more smiles for miles to come. Look forward to sharing some tarmac with you again soon.

Another great owner with a load of entertaining stories! Serious mileage on this one. Cheers to the owner. 👏👏👏 Love the front end on the 991.1 GT3. OJ attorney was Johnnie Cochran. 😜 Happy New Year!
It looks proper mean too. I think I prefer the white and black livery to the blue James wanted, but I always wait for the colour I want. Other specs I'm less precious about.
Good chat and tips! Im looking between a gt3 touring (happy to do light mods and will be putting back seats for the kids) and a 993 (i love the size and look) mostly for road driving. Any pointers on best choice for a weekend car welcome.
Two very different cars with their different challenges. - Size is already something I’m sure you know. - 993 will not forgive mistakes like the 991, that’s a fact - Good AC/ cruise control, mod coms in 991 etc not in 993 or at least not same level certainly no mod coms outside of questionable AC - You will have to come across a freshly done 993 (suspension et al) to be able to compare else an old car Back seats work in 993 if cabriolet but still small compared to the 991 and you will still likely need a cabriolet for the back seats to be somewhat useful (I thoroughly tested these in practice). - 993 is slow but lord it is visceral and engaging like the 991 won’t be able to dream of. - Depends on where you live, you will have to consider ULEZ for the 993. - The 993 is incredibly well built, like a well made Swiss watch that simply won’t fail but key is to buy a car that’s been refreshed(you will thank me if you choose the 993). Not a car that’s been stored and not used! - Finally the 991 is more of a GT as it is so refined it’s incredible, comfy etc etc. whereas the 993 has the Mezger engine, a race engine and they drive like race cars it’s very engaging in every sense of the word more in spirit of a sports or race car and you feel it, sense of occasion every time. Good luck whatever decision you make. 👊🏿🙏🏿
@y0057 many thanks for taking the time to give advice. Really appreciated and happy new year. I live in South London so not sure if 993 is ULEZ permitted (on blogs i see all sorts of answers!)
@ Happy new year to you. If you are based in London, inside the A406 etc then you are going to be impacted, as you move around. If you love the car enough then not an issue but it’s best to know that you will have to pay this fee(as I did all this time), a lot of people do so I imagine, i am in west london and a couple of 993’s/ 964’s are near me and I suspect they all have to pay, they just choose when to drive and make the most of it.
@@y0057 btw saw some of your vids and clearly the 993 is a fun car but the thought of paying more tax on ULEZ, tough pill the swallow. Leaning more 991 now although 993 is beautiful! Will think on it
Haha, I often get that comment just before Christmas when people watch Love Actually (he is 2 inces shorter, larger nose, 19 years older and much richer!)

Consistently the best Porsche content on TH-cam, not just the car content but also the people.
Also enjoyed watching and as expected along come the experts advising us of the g6 engine issues without showing any solid evidence!
James is such a legend ⚡️
Great episode. I really do love the dog 😃😃

Great episode… and an adorable spaniel too! 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
REALLY ENJOYED THIS EPISODE. ❤
Great conversation, loved the stories, as well as the factual stuff, thoroughly entertaining hour, thank you.

And an Isle of Man TT fan 👍
Any chance you could do the spec in the description please. ( It’s ok just found it!)

what an amzing car, love the hope porsche arent listening not knowing they can plug it in a see its been over revved llol
Love the 991.1, may want to look at the finger follower issues still in the G6 motors though.
Liam Neeson drives a GT3, wow! 😂
Haha, I often get that comment just before Christmas when people watch Love Actually (he is 2 inces shorter, larger nose, 19 years older and much richer!)
@ Haha, I’m glad you saw the funny side. Definitely a resemblance there! Enjoyed the video and kudos to you driving your GT3 properly 😎👍🏼
How come the doors have aluminium trim but the dash is carbon ?
Always wondered why they didn’t specify it with full carbon….if I ever get to spec a car would do the whole thing
Johnnie Cochran not Johnny Cocker !! 😂
Thanks
991.1 has the Chocolate Engine so it’s best to get a G6 engine and even that has know to fail!
Gen 2.
PDK can’t over rev
Maybe it’s possible when the car is flying 😉
Plesse stop using a tint on top of the video. Its awful. Whose idea was it, anyway? Keep it natural.
Not a great chat unfortunately but lovely car
