Finished it and was like what was the point of this film? And you’re right! It was kind of like Sequence in a Blue Room but that was done better. I thought the lead was kinda cute but that’s it.
This movie seems to have a similar theme and storyline to the Juliette Binoche film "Between Two Worlds." Although that movie was about someone posing as a professional custodian. I loved that movie! Although the ending was a bummer.
Such an interesting topic, but sounds like the main character doesn't really care for it. It does sound frustrating. Thanks for the review, I'd rather want to avoid this movie I think. 💝
Thanks for the review. Can I guys do a Mysterious Skin review or talk about it on a podcast? Joseph Gordon Levitt is a fav of mine and several of his Indies seem right up y'all alley- esp Nick
Nick wanting answers from a 'conflicted' character, "are you owning this..." and Joseph would like if the character got over it and had conviction to the 'job!' This story is pretty 'flat' I trust the review!
Hmmmm. Are you guys sure you belong to the same club Pete Buttigeg, Brian Tyler Cohen, me and many others including Rachel Maddow….?…?😳🤔🙄😱 You may have gathered from the few comments I’ve left on your fun site, I am a tad older than you guys. I found “Sebastian” to be biographical at times. In my 20s, I was as wide eyed, adventurous, ridiculous and decidedly and. Happily Gay. I lived in London for a month for work and also New York……which is/was decidedly different than the gay scene in Los Angeles. I guess I have a twinkle in my eye to see how “gay cinema” has matured compared to the always puzzling why “Making Love” in the 80s was so controversial….but very true to the Los Angeles gay scene in the back alleys near Circus Books. Max/Sebastian’s body seemed to develop overnight. I often dated older men who mentored me in our history from cinema to literature to music. I question if the young gay men of today benefit from this sort of cultural education. It was reassuring to see that indee it does. The sex was a little more explicit than I would have expected and at many times, I metaphorically dropped my rosary beads.🤭 The lead actor was perfect in the role. It definitely could have used a little more editing especially for those who couldn’t identify with his experiences as I did, short of being working boy, though by no means am I judging. I was going to see the film regardless……your reviews confused me for a moment…..but then Rotten Tomatoes gave it 70%. Reviews including yours are a part of my decision making on film…however, if I want to see something…I follow my instincts. I have always liked the name Sebastian so that was also a draw. It was a little too long, for most, but I will definitely see it again and give it a “3.0”!!!!!
Nick came for blood with that pull quote

Thanks for this review. Now I want to go back and reread Less Than Zero. I started reading BEE in 6th grade. I might even watch Sebastian. Cheers!
Kind of digging the storyline. The Girlfriend Experience show touched on elements of this film. Great series. Thank you both for the review
Thank for the review, I will definitely watch it !
The main character reminds me of that guy from ‘something like summer’. that would be the funniest review ever 😂

Those pull quotes accurately summed up the film. I refuse to watch it because it seems so predictable & basic
‼️‼️‼️‼️‼️‼️ Great Review
I thought this was the Derek Jarman film. You guys should review that one.
This sounds interesting. Looking forward to seeing it
On which website can I watch Sebastian movie?
Where is this movie available to view? Cant even find a trailer for it on YT.
Where to watch this movie
I wouldn’t be able to keep track of all the hookups. Haha
Rookie mistakes were made. He should’ve at least listened to TS Madison first.
