yes it can but make sure it fits in the total memory of atmega8
normal Arduino chip (Atmega 328) has 32kb storage, but Atmega8 has only 8kb storage that's the only limitation!

I tried burning boothloader in two of my 328p microcontroller.
But every time there is an error of invalid device signature.
" device signature = 0x000000
Yikes! Invalid device signature.
Double check connections and try again, or use -F to override
this check."
Connection is not proper. That error means your IC is not giving signature back to your Arduino programmer.

this is a fake video, you selected atmega8 but while uploading
atmega 328 was selected.
You selected External clock 5.44 and made the audience fool.
The information matters, there might be false click in the recording, I did it again with correct settings letter,....
There is 10hours of work behind a 10minute video, so every scene might not be accurate, just focus on information, watch the test after it, it runs on internal clock.
I upload the code with same specifications on atmega 8 and it working properly ❤
