Usually they rebel too, they think it'll stop them from turning out kind of rough, but in reality they just do it behind their back. Its much better to have your kids have a bit of freedom and to let them do what they want (within reason) and have them tell you and help them do it safely, then having them go behind your back and doing things unsafely!!!! My mom when I was a teen I ended up pregnant at 16 because I ended up rebelling bad and was stupid about it but we have a great relationship and she is so much better with my kids I swear the grandkids get away with so much stuff with her I realized she didn't know what as he was doing when I was younger she thought she was doing what was best she learned from it and we were able to build a strong relationship now and now I can joke and tell her the crap I hid did as a teen
Parents who do things like this just raise sneaky kids. I knew kids in school who were incredibly sneaky about what they did. Hell, I knew girls who'd come to school with different outfits in their bags. It was honestly so wild.

My mom wasn’t this bad- but she refused to let me wear a push up or padded bra for suuuuuchhhh a long time. I actually had to have my grandma buy them with me, and I would bring them from my dads house to my moms house til I had my own.
For anyone who may defend this skit because it's just a skit or the mother is reasonably mad etc etc, listen to my story real quick. I ran away at 17. I haven't spoken to my parents for nearly 2 years now. I'm 20. They have missed out on me getting a house, me finishing school, my first job, Christmas, New Years, Halloween. Everything. They have missed out on some of the biggest moments from my young adulthood. I haven't told them a single thing about it. No celebration, no casual lunches or dinners. They are removed from my life. And this is one of the MANY reasons. Yes, there was a lot more abuse than this that led up to me leaving but I remember when I first developed my chest I had nothing. It was extremely embarrassing to have no bras for YEARS and I was still wearing kid sized underwear, they pinched and gave me horrid infections till I finally moved out. This didn't keep me from "staying pure". Guess what? I was still r*ped at 3 years old. No bra or panties changed that. What did change was the fact that I had the chance of getting injuries and clots from wearing bras that were 3X smaller than my chest and underwear that were not designed for a growing women's lower area so I had yeast infections and UTIs constantly.
There is a big difference between the abuse that you suffered an a parent not wanting their child to have lingerie underwear or push-up bras to make their boobs look bigger. Comfortable underwear and bras that fit and support are necessities, the sexy kind are not. Dont buy other people's kids underwear it looks like grooming give them a gift card or something.

I had a strict mother like this I was male so I didn't have the bra problem but I am gay so she did throw out all of my gay underwear and toys even though I was 18 but she was very controlling throughout my whole entire life I guess the term would be helicopter parent but she was so strict that I turned to drugs to distract but now I'm on my own and I am clean and I'm working on past trauma and I can completely empathize with this
You know, eventually the kids of these types of parents just figure out that they would rather be kicked out than live with their abusive parents. Usually following this realization is a snap during any little disagreement, followed closely by the child having an absolute conniption at their parents and finally finding catharsis while screaming venom at this person who now just doesn't scare them anymore. And this is followed by the parent experiencing a complete lack of control over their child for the first time. This either leads to the parent finally realizing that they've been doing things wrong, or it will lead to an absolute breakdown of the relationship between them and their child. Unfortunately, it is much more often the latter and not the former.

As someone with parents like this, unless you start trying to get better (as my parents are) the kids will leave you. Holidays? You don’t exist. Maybe the children need help at home because they have kids now? Hire a nanny, grandma isn’t gonna do anything good anyway.
And they wonder why “ teen suicide “ rate is so high. Having adult children Not speak to you is a blessing, compared to the parents who lost them to suicide, and were like this. And they just can’t figure out “ why” their child could EVER have a problem. Just saying😢
and this is why i think its okay that the neighbor bought her undergarments, the mom didnt actually care, if she did she would have thrown it out. if she really thought something was bad for her kid but then could be bought to allow it anyway it shows she doesnt actually care about her damned kid. the neighbor is more of a provider than the mom has been this whole series
