I only use shampoo and conditioner for dry hair when I’m washing my hair in the shower. I usually rinse the conditioner with cold water to fight frizz but I don’t use dry shampoo often because it contains chemicals. My hair does get dry from swimming in the summer
Also fun fact. If your hair is dyed, cold water can help the dye last longer and fade slower. Warm water makes it fade faster because it opens the molecules or something. (Edit: it actually opens the hair cuticle so color molecules can escape and it dries out your hair. Cold water tightens the cuticle preserving color longer.)
Technically you’re not supposed to wash your hair everyday because all your natural oils and keratin gets damaged, but definitely at least every other day with conditioner, I cannot just use shampoo my hair gets so dry 😵💫

I recommend trying not to overuse products and find ways to make it last(the hairstyle) at least 1-2 extra days before washing and restyling. Some ppl also try to refresh the curls with a mixture of water and a little leave in conditioner as well. If you don't want to believe me you can look up the channel Manes by Mel. She's a hairstylist who has very curly hair and makes videos for curly and wavy hair folks. 😇
To those people who have parents who actually limits time for showering, here is what you can do. -Rinse your body, turn off the shower then use your soap and clean yourself -Turn it back on ti wash the soap off
I used to be in this situation. For me it did not work, they even limited the time spent in the bathroom. Not just water. Ended up with massive trauma related to showering and bathing. They actually turned off the warm water every minute for a minute or two. And made me shower in the dark while shouting on the top of my lungs if I took longer than 2 mins.

yk i used to think it was normal to just shower like 2 times a week (with shampoo & conditioner), but apparently a lot of people shower almost everyday and to me that seems extensive. my hair doesn’t get greasy fast, and it’s probably partially from how i space out the washing, and from what ik washing it everyday isn’t good for ur hair and that’s what makes it get greasy faster. but on the other hand, if you’re just washing your body whatever, but yk you could just use wipes or smth if you rlly need it (and i’m not talking about the people who get really bothered by feeling dirty, because even if i don’t understand it, if it bugs you then by all means)

I grew up in a huge drought. We had egg timers for our showers. We would collect water in buckets during a shower and that’s what we used to wash our clothes or fill the toilet. I was never dirty, greasy or smelly. You turn the water off while you wash and shampoo. I really don’t think this is toxic or abusive, the mum is obviously concerned about money. Even she is going without. It would be different if she was taking long showers but letting her daughter.
