Matt Damon actually said on The Late Show With David Letterman that if movies were judged on their quality by how funny they are, then Cannonball Run 2 would be the greatest movie of all time! Mr Damon has went up massively in my estimation!!
god i miss the 80s...im 35 soon..this was before tuner cars....this was an amazing part of car history...seems like anyone now can get after market parts and if they have enough money they can make thier cars fast...even if its a ford pinto.. now if i was rich hell id just go to italy and come back with a smile on my face and a hole in my pocket, and an awesome car:)

As someone who has driven the Contach, Diablo, Murcielago, Gallardo, and Aventador I can tell you the experience is one you will NEVER forget. However, there is a marked difference from when Audi took over the engineering. Prior, those Lambo's were actively NUTS and trying to kill you if you stopped thinking for even a second. After Audi came on board, the cars are still insane to drive, but they don't try to kill you at every turn.
@@petert3355 I do prefer the earlier Lambo's. But I don't care which era Lambo I'd get to drive even sit in one and listen to the engine 🤩🥵. Never understood if it ain't broken why change it. Audi should of kept with the same recipe 🤷♀️

I would love to see in a new fast and furious, Vin dieasel rocks up and saves the day. Then while he is stopped at traffic lights he hears sirens coming. A countach pulls up beside him with two old ladies in it, Vin drives off really fast and hopes he doesn't go back to jail. While the two old ladies laugh, one gets out, spray paints more 0's on the closest speed limit sign and take off.

FYI albiet people still run the course and even break the standing record, their attempts are not considered legit because motor trend no longer counts them.

When I was a boy, this film, and the first Cannonball Run film, immortalised the Countach in my mind. Those two women also had an effect me.
