I really hit it off with one owner in particular and we ended up becoming good friends. He wasn't a rich guy, just somebody that was as passionate about the Countach as I was. I was 21 at the time, he was 30. He had spent all the money he had saved for a house on the car and also had a huge loan on it. He lost his girlfriend in doing so because she was furious that he had bought the car instead of house. I'll never forget the conversation we had in the car the day his girlfriend left him. He said "Fuck it, I didn't have posters on my wall of my dream house or my dream family!". When I turned 33, my opportunity to own one of these cars appeared. My friend's words echoed in my head when, like him, I debated whether to buy the car or a house. Guess which one I bought :)

You accepted it as just "two women out smarting men, driving like demons and there's zero agenda or bullshit." without knowing this was a new and revolutionary way that women were being perceived and included. You can bet your ass there were boomer men, up in arms about women "who belonged in the kitchen, not behind the wheel" when this came out, I have NO doubt lol.
There is only 1 movie opening that beats this one! That’s the Original Italian Job with Michael Caine going over the Alps in a gorgeous 60s design classic! And that was Lamborghini too! 🤩🥳
Never saw that movie so this is best
RIP Burt you legend. ❤

This was and still is my favorite movie of all time!!! I would get all my Hot Wheels out and have my own cannonball run lol!!!
Loved Burt Reynolds in this movie, RIP Burt.
Lol. Some of the lowest performing police cars around that time. But the blue firebird hp car from the first cannonball looked cool.
The stars have officially come out to play.
The best Intro of All movies 🙌
I think it funny how this film came out 25 years before I was born and my dad showed me the film and the intro just the start is so good and the music still a tune to this day
The beginning is funny. Just the way those girls outwit the cops! Makes laugh during this scene.🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 Still I wonder why they kept having car trouble? They broke down several times.
... and its got two GREAT lookin' chicks in it!
yes it díse
Wow, excellent hose job, it even rinsed the red interior into tan!

There will never be movies made like this ever again.
0:05 That road was once call Lake Mead Dr. and now it's St. Rose Parkway in Las Vegas or Henderson NV 0:33 is I-15 north with the Lake Mead Dr. off ramp 2:45 is I-15 and Blue Diamond Rd. next to the T&A truck stop which is till there also Where they hose off the car is where the Silverton Hotel now sits. Yup, the intro was filmed at the south end of Las Vegas at I-15 and Blue Diamond RD and I-15 & Lake Mead Dr.
I live in Vegas so your info was great to learn. Never would’ve recognized those locations, it’s changed so much in almost 40 years.
If they can only run the Cannonball again like they did in the early 70's. Corvette C8 vs. Challenger Hellcat Redeye vs. Camaro ZL1 1LE vs. Shelby GT500.
Such an awesome machine, a real fucking sportscar!
I was born in 1983 and it was one of my favorite movies as a child
R.I.P Burt Reynolds!
Old Blue Eyes shot his scenes at night with stand-ins.
This is why the Internet MUST NEVER DIE.
There is no other sound that comes out of a v12 engine and a muffler like this.
kudos to all the cars with v12 engines!
Memories from the sunnier and funnier times. They are all gone now.
All gone... Just memories now 👍
