Hi! I learned to hydro dip from your channel. My results are mediocre but it's good enough for personal use. My question is, what type of paint, or clear spray paints in particular, should I look for when finishing my work? I have very good-looking results when they are new. But after months of rain and sunshine, the finished surface of my work starts cracking and chipping away. Also the clear coat I used turns white when it's wet with water from rain. I'm a total noob in paint knowledge. I do not know what or where lacquer, polyurethane, and other types are used for and why. Any help, please?

Hope this helps !!
What is the table made out of that you cut your film on? What kind of activator do you use that doesn't require a mask?
The table is made of HDPE. With all activators it is advised to wear proper PPE. During videos we do not simply so we can still talk but we do run a exhaust film that is also still pulling out the films during the spraying process to limit the exposure.
I whish can meet you, I want to learn. Do you have clases in person?
Yes we sure do! liquidconcepts.com/hydrographics-training/
This is one of trickiest films I've dipped. Its very thick. I had to soak a bit longer, one extra pass of activator and about 15 seconds quell. It was tough but I'm still no expert bu any means.
Edit: Hahaha! Jeremy just confirmed what I said! Front face of an Xbox controller looks like Jeremy's and even better with clear coat buuuutt, 3 failed attempts for the back shell. This just motivated me to get that damn back shell done. Sheesh, I'm almost out of this film. I've never totally run out of a particular film before I finally got successful hits. I've got to finally invest in a spray gun system because of activator inconsistency. I got about 2 more trys. Let's go.
I highly recommend in an hvlp gun for activator spraying if you want more consistent result!
@@LiquidConceptsUSA thanks guys. After all my trials and dip after dip including practice dips with new paint or film; reading forums like reddit and K2 as well, the final conclusion was activator has to be precise. There is no room for error not even a little bit and you just can't count on that from a rattle can.
Hey I’m a beginner at hydro I’m trying to dip my 06 Impreza middle console 3 piece carbon fiber how I make it look like it’s one price that the lines of pattern matches up? Thanks
More than likely depending on the size you would not be able to dip these all together so there is not a exact way to lineup it perfectly. If they are small enough pieces that can be jigged up together then you could do this to ensure a match. Here is a video that may be helpful- th-cam.com/video/GbuC_sB3yms/w-d-xo.html
I think your friends looks cooler because it looks almost melted. They're both pretty awesome but I really like the way his looks because the colors look almost melted
what should be the spray gun? nozzle? Thank you
For activator we recommend 1.3 - 2.0. We use a 1.4 tip
“So easy a caveman can do it “ lol
LOL. Well, if he practices !!
Video deffo helps as I have the same film. I'm doing it out of a massive food container with an aquarium inline water heater to get water temp to optimum temp. 🤣. Will hopefully afford a professional one soon lol. Wicked video. Uhmm. 🤣🫶🏻
