There was another thing you can do to get double buckets pretty easy. When I had my 95, my driver seat was junk, really nasty and didnt really support anything. So I took both my driver and passenger side out, and swapped the mounts from the driver to the passenger seat, and sat the passenger seat in the driver side. Everything bolted up fine. I couldn't use my driver seat obviously, but thats just something for anyone to consider. The passenger seats tend to be in better condition than driver seats in these trucks, and are usually much more comfortable. So if you want buckets on the cheap, just find a truck in a yard somewhere and pull the passenger seat and swap the mounts with your driver seat. Then while youre in that yard, find an explorer console :)

From your week night at the shop plus your dads shop your group has at least125yrs of experience ,which included 110 volts, 12 volt dc, small engine repair , scooters,motorcycles,car and truck repairs gas power or diesel powered and steam.You have all the basics covered .I proud to call you my friend or brother and if its ok my brother . You can go to the u pull and get a passenger seat. Then seperate the seats from the rails, it's 4 10mm for the bottom and a couple torx things for the back, actually might not have to change the back at all.
I just bought a 2010 Ranger with 60/40 bench and the stick. I've been driving GM & Dodge for some years so I'm rusty. The console is so flimsy, it bugs me as they did years ago. It also has an airbag label. I can work around that. I'll just unplug the battery overnight. The bracket shelf has me curious about using that for mounting a custom console. Cooler, CB & drink holder perhaps. It really could use better sound of course. It's plain enough to have hand crank windows, so the speakers are also kinda tinny. Opening up useable space could make room for my 6x9 boxes with JVC triaxials.
actually the 60 40 is great, my girl sits on the center and mother by the window, we are comfortable like that, if you have a standard I understand, but on my truck we love it. :-)

Great video but I have one problem and hope you can help. I can't get an answer from anyone so trying you. I am trying to change my console armrest on my 2000 ford ranger and you said the side pieces just slide off to get to the bolts to remove it. Well they don't just slide off. Some kind of stop is holding it up and I wrestled with it for awhile with no luck. I don't want to damage the piece so what needs to be done, exactly, to get the molding covers off the console arms to expose the bolts for removal? Thank you.

Also cut a hole in floor and installed a shiftster for the transfer case and when patch is in place no one even knows it's there except me. and ditched the shift motor and gay push button 4wd selector and then installed manual hubs.
i know this comment is old but how did you install a manual shifter for the transfer case? is the hookup for a manual shifter there even on electronic transfer case models?

You removed the electric shift motor from t-case and it bolted into place. It looked like a small water faucet handle on the side of your house. It had a spring loaded thumb button so it would lock into the detents on t-case for 2h-4h and 4l. I do not know if they are still being made or not. I bought mine 10 years ago for 45 dollars and it works great. After cutting the drivers seat to make it like a bucket seat I also cut a hole in the tunnel in the floor to reach my hand through to shift from drivers seat, otherwise some people complained about having to get out of vehicle and reach under truck to shift t-case. But even that way it's worth it cuz when you shift into 4wd you know the t-case is engaged with no electric motor or electronic crap. You can research on some ranger and bronco forums to find info and images but I do not know if they are still in production. It was simply called the Shiftster and as far as I know they were only making them for certain model and year fords. If you have skills and tools you could make one. I made a manual shifter for a friends 86 s10 blazer some years ago and eliminated the electric shift motor but they are quite different than the older fords. good luck!

I cant remember exactly but I had to make a jumper wire for speedo on t-case but I think yours being a 94 would be exempt. My 97 uses a sensor and wire for speedo so it quit working after disconnect of shift motor but if you have a cable then no worries.

I have the same tan fabric in my 2002 ford ranger (nice condition truck) that I'm looking for due to rip in that driver's seat. Did you pitch it? I could use it for repairs on my seat. My truck is 16 years old, and the local auto upholstery shop said they no longer carry this material. That gold checkered material is what I need for the outer edge of the seat that takes a beating when the driver gets in and out of the truck. Can you send that fabric to me. I'll take all that tan checkered material for future use. $20 okay?

Does anyone know what seats fit the ranger track? I got an 08 with a cigarette burn in it. I looked at getting seat covers but none fit unless you buy online. I’m definitely not cutting my seat in half for a sake of a smoke hole lol.

I've had that problem with the 40 part. grabbed the wrong stick. didn't shift gears. but the scary part was the stick wasn't exactly soft.

@@1337penguinman The seat belts mounted to the floor so it wasnt an issue. The tilt control for the back was obviously on the other side though.
Don't cut the seat cover / fabric off!!!! They are simply clipped in and can be easily removed without any cutting.

A passenger side seat will bolt right onto the driver side tracks, would've been a lot less work.

The armrest was a terrible design. All of them are broke and the lid won't stay closed cause of it.

Just buy some online. I got some off amazon made specifically for rangers for $120 and they fit perfectly and fit so well they look stock
