- We love off-roading and testing the abilities of the Toyota Tundra. This spot at Famous Reading Outdoors in PA gave us the opportunity to play in the mud.

The best part about Tundra's is knowing the chances of breaking down out while you are playing is far less than any other manufacture.

Really? Mine just sits outside because 1- it won't fit in the garage, and 2- I prefer her outside because I can leave to work or any where early than sitting in the garage waiting for the door to open up. And of course it's a truck built in Texas so it won't rust regardless of all the snow crap I've been getting for past 23 yrs here where I live. I love taking her off roading and mud bogging.

Both Tundra's, the CM and DC performed well in the mud. Which is one of the reason why I bought a Tundra because of their capability.
The ATRAC system took us some time to learn but is a very capable system

@@DeeDee-be1mo there's plenty. My family has bunch of Toyota. Not saying they don't break down. They do sometimes but it's not major. But my 2016 Tundra pro now has 130k miles on it and I drive that thing like a sport car. Haven't had a problem yet. But 130k of abuse in just 4 years is pretty tough

Okay, the first one needs some blacked out headlights. When that mud got over the headlights it just looks badass.
I owned the tacoma, 4runner and now the Tundra. All I buy are new and only TRD Pros. All have the TRD pro cold air intakes installed. Each one has the advantages and disadvantages of each other. The 4runner you just cant get it stuck. The tacoma was a little cramped inside and jbl stereo in it stunk. Im a truck guy so Im sticking with the tundra but Im thinking next bypassing the sequoia and just buying the new Landcruiser. A 4 runner with 400hp. And the luxury as well. If I buy it Im putting all fox suspension and exhaust from the TRD Pro and skid plates. Toyota builds superior vehicles and the TRD Pros are worth the extra money.

Blue Tundra is supercharged and the grey Tundra is N/A. Both running 315/70r17 BFGoodrich KO2. In the latest video the grey Tundra is running 37s KM3
Anyone have issue with alternator after mudding? Had a tundra before and took mudding, went a little too deep in some mud and water cause the alternator to crap out

The 2nd one was supercharged. Notice the 550HP on the hood? Also listen and you will hear the supercharger whine near the end.

Bought a used 2018 tundra 6 months ago with 80,000 miles. Took it offroading and blew the steering pump within five minutes of getting there doing the same thing ;( warranty covered it but a little disappointed.

My tundra has seen mud before but I don’t have anybody to pull me out if I ever get stuck off-roading in anything serious. Plus I only have two wheel drive which was a big mistake and so I have a 6” lifted tundra that can’t do anything fun
2 wheel drive Tundra's are great for hauling and mpg but will definitely hold you back some when off roading.

Yes a CMC was needed to fit the 315/70r17 tires on a Crewcab and Double Cab
What’s off roading like on a truck with no locking rear differential? Just curious.
Every vehicle has its limitations. On some tight trails the Toyota Tundra out performed a Ram Power Wagon with front and rear lockers because of the low differential clearances getting hung up on rocks.

@@AngerManagementOverland Both Diffs are open. Smoke should have been from the exhaust. Anything loose like mud, sand or snow that clog the tire tread usually requires the traction off to spin the tires and clean the treads. Anything else hills and rocks traction control should be used so the tires don't get cut up and its harder to throw up rocks. Any questions on the traction control let me know.

Grey Tundra has a stock exhaust. Blue Tundra has the TRD Dual Exhaust.

No alternators needed yet, but can't guarantee in the future

Both Tundra's have Icon Rebound wheels with 315/70r17 BFGoodrich KO2. They same tires that come stock on the Ford Raptor.

For mudding I would agree. We have had a lot of luck with the newer vehicles reliability on the trails.
