Since I know there's gonna be a bunch of you who always complain about "too much taking" THE SOUND DEMO STARTS AT 6:10 Enjoy ! :p The signal chain during this sound demo is as follows: - Custom modified Epiphone "Old Boy" guitar. - Custom germanium treble booster - Laney GH00L 100W tube amp head - Bugera PS1 Power Soak attenuator - Custom 2x12 cab fitted with Celection G12M Greenbacks - mic'd with a Shure SM57 and an Audio Technica AT2020 - the microphone signals ran through my Behringer U-PHORIA UMC404HD audio interface before being edited in my DAW of choice, Reaper, where I panned the mics separately hard left/right and I added a touch of reverb to one side...
Guitar turned out awesome! I just scored an Epiphone Iommi. These things are awesome. I need to get an amp to really check out the pickups. I'm running it through a Headrush with powered FRFR speakers.
Great job! Sometime ago I sent you a message on Facebook asking about the jaydee pickup rings, but I think you didn't get it. I end up projecting my own rings and sent to a usineur to make it in aluminium. I think it's going to sound (and look) great. Cheers!
the Guitar looks Great .. Excellent work !!!! i know how hard it is to get a project Done , but it was worth the wait to see it finished .. my only suggestion is to lose the plastic ring around the toggle switch that says rhythm trebble ...i dont think you will forget which one is which .LOL it makes the guitar look cleaner ..
Yes indeed, I know that haha! If it appeared like I didn't in this video that's just because I'm so used to seeing and hearing people refer to him and his guitars as "JayDee" thanks for checking out the video by the way :)
I ordered them directly from JayDee Guitars UK. the best way is to find their email on their website and contact them through there if you're after a set too :)
haha! Fair enough. Honestly I'll be the first to admit that my playing here was not great... In fact I'm pretty sure I made that clear in the video. This was just me noodling around, pretty carelessly, for the hell of it. In general I'm not the best guitar player, but at present I'm comfortable enough with my ability to know that if I were trying I could easily play much better. Especially since I'm always learning more and improving. That said, even though your comment doesn't really bother me in this context. In a broader sense I am bothered by comments of this nature since they could be easily be hurtful for someone else, especially if they're received at a bad time... There were plenty of times I've felt really insecure about my playing, and back then a comment like this might have really hurt to hear. Especially on top of some really rough personal stuff that I had gone through earlier in the year... I'm not trying to sound antagonistic towards you by the way, we've all done this... Without thinking, I've mindlessly posted far worse comments in the past.. Since then I've just learn to be more aware that behind every TH-cam video there's an actual living, breathing and feeling person and It's important not to casually comment anything you wouldn't say to them in person. Even though you may not have intended to cause distress, it's just not good practice saying stuff like this. If you feel you must be bluntly honest, at the very least try to re-phrase it in a way that comes across more positive. For example "Sweet guitar! Keep up the guitar practice and it'll sound even better!" Even then, you really don't need to inform someone that their playing needs work. They know. from my experience no one is more critical of there own playing than themselves. It takes a fair amount of emotional effort to overcome your own anxiety to even publicly open yourself up to criticism when posting your playing. Telling someone that their playing is bad in this context doesn't tell them anything their not already telling themselves. Rather it just likely to add another brick in their wall of insecurity. After hearing enough of that it'll be unlikely they'll feel comfortable sharing their playing in the future whether it's improved or not. Anyway, thanks for checking out the video! I appreciate you reading through this. I know this reply seems excessively long, but (as someone who's had learning difficulties due to ADHD and experienced hard criticism and self worth issues as a result) this is something I personally care a lot about. take care.

@jakubshouseofrock7109 Now that you mention it, I think Tony is the only one I've heard refer to him "properly"
