SKIPPING THE FOAM…IS IT SAFE? … to be continued

- woof coating failure sucks, after 4 straight months of highway driving my coating has taken a hit! what was supposed to be a video about rinsing grit off with just water and skipping the foam turned into disappointment. but i already had an idea this was happening so let’s go!
Franko, in your situation any coating will unfortunately need regular decontamination. No need for a topper. You don’t need to jump the battery, but you do need to make sure the alternator is charging it.
Yes your pretty
thank you thank you 👍🏽 not at all disagreeing with you, but i’ll ask even with washing my vehicle 3 times a month, how many times should i decontaminate in those washes? admittedly that’s pretty frequent to wash my vehicles but i enjoy doing it. isn’t the act of washing it so frequently in of itself making sure that it isn’t contaminated or at least doesn’t let contamination set in? the mazda that was coated around the same time as the bronco with the same bottle of hydro lite and the hydrophobics still look fantastic. but that is city driven and washed just as frequently.
i would kindly argue that the bronco is not clogged or contaminated but had been abraded to the point of weakening especially the areas behind the wheels, of course. and for a sandy desert highway (ha, sounds like an eagles song) would a sacrificial layer every few washes not be better?
lol and thank you for saying i’m pretty 😜😜😜 … one day i’ll be cool enough to wear the red shoes!
@ if you’re driving through the rain on occasion, it’s more than likely mineral contamination. We get the same areas getting cloaked with minerals up north due to salt on the roads. Try some DIY Detail Water Spot Remover on one panel after your next wash. If it’s mineral contamination, it will remove it.
@ no not driven through a lot of rain, west texas doesn’t get a lot of rain.
i’ve maintained this vehicle by washing it a least 3 times a month since coating it four months ago, and have done at least 2 water spot remover treatments in that time. also 2 (maybe 3) iron remover treatments, spray on rinse off, i park next to railroad tracks when i go to the train depot for work so i’m constantly near a lot of iron particles.
in that four months i’ve put roughly 4,800 highway miles on the coating. regular washing with proper techniques and chemicals, definitely haven’t neglected it nor given it a chance to collect enough contamination to effect the hydrophobic’s on the doors and back hatch as much as they are. so the “alternator” is definitely working just fine.
i used all the proper procedures when coating the vehicle so i know that’s not the problem. the only conclusion i can come up with now is the abrasion it receives from the proximity of the wheels and the constant miles that are being put on it. the mazda cx5 is city driven and maintained just the same is looking fantastic 👍🏽🐿️💨
Nothing like Rinseless.
I rarely use the soap or foam cannon. I use it only on fenders or wheels and tires using a foaming pump sprayer.
@@1stfrompuertorico568 rinseless is king! i would say i’m 60/40 rinseless to foam these days. i still enjoy foam for sure but not every single time 😜😜😜
@@Juicefree 😜😜👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼
Shoes match the truck as they should.
Yes. You’re pretty handsome.
@@ChiGalKMcAcura kimberly mc!!!!!! thankyou thankyou 🙏🏽 i’ve got a week’s long vacation started so i’ll be able to work your stickshift for sure ✌🏽🐿️💨
@@FrankoDetails I need you to do me this one favor. Focus on your enjoying your vacation. I’m not stressing over the giveaway and I don’t want you to either when it comes to me. Got it?
@ ❤️❤️❤️
I completely agree with you about claying. I did a test with a new decon towel on brand new perfect never polished paint with no scratches or swirl marks, no pressure, lubrication and I got scratches after a few passes
@@Slava-du8dw yo slava, yes’r!!! i’ve done wash, clay, seals before but on cars that were swirled to hell and didn’t want to be polished. the clay process no matter how safe will scratch even a just a bit 😜
Love the logo at the end! Btw you're so pretty and i love those sneakers! 😍😍
@@SoCleenDetailing hehe 💚💚💚 bruce had a pair of those same blue brooks on in one of his vids and i totally got jelly and ordered some 😆😆😆
@FrankoDetails haha well I haven't seen that video but I'm sure you look better in them (🤫🤫 don't tell him I said so) 😉 😜
Try throwing the kitchen sink at it lol. I went through every decon process on my outback before I threw in the towel
@@NeilDetails lol, i threw the sink, the stove, and fridge at it, 4 months straight of putting highway miles on the bronco has pretty much shaved off a layer of the coating 😜
@@FrankoDetailsthat’s crazy especially with how pricey c6 hydro lite is
@ yeah, and like i said the mazda which is city driven is still going really strong. 😜😜😜
@ my next vehicle I’ll probably try hydro lite
@ oh yeah brotha! you honestly can’t go wrong with hydro lite, it truly is a badass coating! i think my bronco is just proof that the highway speeds and constant abrasion will wreak havoc on any coating now matter how expensive.
on the filp side of that coin hydro lite is fantastic, i actually used diy 5 year coating on the roof on the mazda and h-lite everywhere else. that was to make sure i had enough for the bronco. i was prepared to do the roof of the bronco with diy 5 year also, but barley had enough to do the whole thing. minus the glass on both vehicles. so i was able to get 2 small suv’s coating with 1 $300 dollar bottle 👍🏽
Nice shoes you look 👀 fantastic🎉😂
@@Dias-v lol thank you thank you 🙏🏽 ….. forgive me for not remembering exactly, but how’s your back doing, i remember you were having to take it easy while detailing recently ✌🏽🐿️💨
@@FrankoDetailsthank you bro Iam good now I am back to my normal routine and Iam going crazy again 🤷
@@Dias-v lol hell yeah good to hear …let’s go!!!
FRANKO. That wind and sand out there is rough. That coating is most likely gone 😔
yeah that’s what i’m thinking … i’m definitely going to be waxing it soon, next summer give it a new coating 😜🐿️💨
"So soft & sensual" for a clay towel is serious business!
@@SoCleenDetailing lol, i’m getting over my fear of trying to clay it without marring it, personally i’ve never done even if it’s a little bit, but it’s not like i don’t have polishers to knock ‘em out if it happens 😜
@FrankoDetails i like to foam on a layer and dip my clay towel in a bucket of incredible suds and you should be good 👍🏼
I love the shoes and ur face!
@@BXGreen_DrivewayDetails you’re too kind and kinda blind 😆😆😆
I'm 100 behind you with only using a synthetic clay only if you are going to polish.
@@DBMgamer yes sir, and i really don’t think a clay treatment will bring back the hydrophobics, that would be the last decontamination step to try and i don’t wanna scratch my doors up
I’ve had no issues using the DIY synthetic clay towel with pressure. I’ve had some issues with the sponge other brands but not the DIY one combined with the soap and iron remover. I’m surprised to hear u ve had but everyone s paint and condition s are different
@ oh for sure on the experiences differing 👍🏽 … i just can’t use any of them without even the lightest of scratching and marring, even with the lightest of pressure 😜
What up Franko ?
@@joesoliz4784 el solito! i’m off for the week bring your truck and some money and i’ll detail it for you 😆
