That's a load of wood. My grandpa would tell us when we were just boys that fire wood heats you three times. First when you cut it then when you load it and last when you stack it. He always said the burning part was the least amount of heat you got out of it. I sure do miss him. Stay safe guys and give your loved ones a hug.✌✌

Friend of mine ordered a load of wood. The guy showed up with a dump truck load and asked where he wanted it dumped. He said, “down by the shop”, so that’s where he put it. However, what he had brought was Tamarack rounds, which easily weighed more than 60 lbs each. My friend was leaving on a business trip for a couple of weeks and a stove/firewood was the only heat source for their cabin (a homestead in western Montana). His wife and three children would be alone. He told the firewood guy, “I thought you were bringing split wood? My wife can’t handle those rounds”. The firewood guy’s response: “You married her”. Welcome to Montana, where you better bring a strong woman.

Thanks for the video again folks. We've heated with wood for 30 years here in southern BC as well, so it's an annual chore with us too. That looked to be Ponderosa you cut and if it was, I'm well versed in how it doesn't like to split sometimes - especially up in the knotty branches. Lastly it did this almost old guy's heart good to see a rifle rack in a pickup again! They used to be standard issue up here across the medicine line back in the day but for a plethora of causes aren't so much anymore.... some of them used to even carry Remingtons! :)

Hanging out in the shop, learning all kinds of things, having a Dad that can fix anything and is willing to take them on adventures. Living here in Northern Utah I can remember many a trip up Utah Hwy 39 to cut and load wood for the winter - 35 years ago. The ‘66 Chevy 2WD half-ton got it done for me. Fortunately we didn’t travel alone to get wood because of the physical hazards and other risks involved. A gun rack in the back window was de rigueur in those days. It was as much of a class statement (who I am) as a need for protection. It was not uncommon to encounter black bears, cougars and hominids with bed intentions. I even manufactured my first 50 cal black powder rifle in high school. Stock, barrel, action - the whole thing. Nobody thought anything about a kid carrying a rifle action and barrel into shop. Times have changed and cultures have changed. Paul and Matt et al are fortunate to live where and when they do. Kind of like an episode of Andy Griffith to me. LOL.

Great to see an old rig out wheeling seems rare nowadays. Most folks just drive around those fancy rigs

I love that truck. It reminds me of back when I was a teenager riding around in my cousins 1987 Chevy short box it had the 350 in it and the automatic 700R4 the thing was indestructible. The best part was there wasn’t a spot of rust on it try to find one now it hasn’t been re-done it doesn’t have rust.my other cousin had a 1983 Chevy long bed with the straight sex in the creeper gear boy that was a great truck. Those K-series Chevy pick ups from the 70s through 1990 fucking amazing pickup.
