What kills SOD is this idea that improving class design for vanilla would make that old ass game good, it sure made it better but not even close to being good. What they could've done is they could've made a real vanilla+ expirience aka turtle wow, runescape etc. Vanilla players wanted in my opinion not something being new but a lot of new things, new quests new zones new raids but instead you are running same dungeons just as more man group and killing same bosses, yes they are a lot harder they do give some better rewards but they are still same old dungeons. Easy example of vanilla devs being lazy is Scarlet monastery raid, everyone wanted it but they chose easier option aka remaking already big dungeons into raids. Also runebloat is a thing. And raids are going up in a difficulty way too much with each patch i wasnt playing in last phase but looking at all the streams i saw that it was not a enjoyable expirience like at all. Sod was supposed by blizzards design to be this fun thing that you can just play when you want(hence lower leves exp boost), were you dont need to minmax, but some players decided to minmax because of that blizzard decided to ruin what was there and was somewhat enjoyable for everyone else.
I can't agree with you enough, I would have legitimately been happy with 1-60 again with an exp buff but them working on the unfinished vanilla raids or dungeons. It's hard seeing Turtle wow a community project with like 0.75% of the funding absolutely dumpster blizzard in terms of content. I also will say that I really enjoy min-maxing, and I actually think min-maxing is a core functionality of hardcore vanilla raiding more so than any other iteration of the game. There's so many really cool niche items for vanilla raiding that make it so unique.
I called in the beginning that the game is going to die out, it's trash, blizz did nothing, but copy pasta some abilities from wotlk, they didn't experiment at all, gave us hamsterwheel trash that was launched bugged, and then nerfed into the ground. Raid was overtuned, which most people probably didn't even do, cause it's trash.
SoD is boring and painful to play solo. They should've did something with BGs instead of Blood Moon and Incursions. I don't play enough to keep track of Blood Moon and I don't raid. I think the time commitment in SoD is too high for the experience I'm getting in return, it's like why am I even playing this lol, it's mid tier fun at best. Yeah fighting premades 24/7 and getting blown up over and over again is really fun.
Lol 40 man raids with no GDKPs, I can tell you how thats going to go. Every boss that dies 2-3 people will DC, And you be trying fill the raid spots none stop. Because that's how players our their item don't drop what keeps them there till the end.
I'm really hoping that incursions are not the method of leveling next phase

sod is just retail minus, not classic plus. The game is a joke.
