have you heard of the scalp hero? it's a scalp massager and moves your scalp around. THe movement / direction is diff from what this growband looks like.

But what about long hair (esp straight hair) getting pulled or causing slippage; making the band not so effective like a bald head or a buzz cut?

The device does not pull or slip on your hair. That’s why the adjustability is important. You’re making it snug against your head and when it inflates, it’s actually moving the skin. So to your point, your hair might not look great afterwards! So I would suggest using it before bed.
