I’ve never commented on a TH-cam video before, but I just had to here. Thank you so much for this beautiful, honest, and heart-wrenching video. I actually had to pause and process parts of it, as it resonated so deeply but also helped me put things into perspective. It was exactly what I needed today, and I can’t thank you enough for that. You've given me a lot to think about.
What a good conversation. Helpful to anyone making a big transition in life, not just athletes. Thank you for being so open and honest and sharing what you have learned through hard experience. An all time great soccer player and very wise.
Wow. Gals u r so lucky to be in this decade. As a pre title lX elite jock i laugh and cry with u. these last few yrs of revelations u all have shared has been cathartic for me. From dealing with coach abuses, and money, addiction, and what now. I am so relieved for u and next gens. That u wont be a flat broke, body broken, lost lonely soul. Please never give up the fight for our freedom and rights.. take care of each other like this.. its the best y can do for us all. TY
This.. this was really good Kelley. Like.. you’d think you have a degree in journalism, & you’ve been doing that for 30yrs. Great subject too, but technically this was a great interview.
God, I love this honesty. I wish we as women could talk more like this to one another. Thankful for my circle where we can. I hope everyone can get this kind of circle where you can be real. Many of us only made it through a college career or high school. But you can understand how it can become your identity. Not only in sports. I had a serious knee injury I did not get fixed until after college and what Abby has continued to state about prescription drugs is so important. I hope people will listen. In my case, next thing I knew I had been taking pain killers for two years. You are not supposed to do that, but we have doctors who sign away. So take care of yourself. Never be afraid to reach out for help. Great interview, JWS.
Love this conversation so much. I just hosted a workshop with members of The Post about life after sports and how we can all use some check-ins around our ego and the systems in which we used to thrive in but may not be able to anymore. So grateful that more folks are talking about the retirement of elite athletes, what to expect and how to best prepare for that time. Thank you Kelley and Abby!
I love this. Carving out the life you want and defining "enough" is so important; ultimately, it is our life's work as we progress through the different phases of our lives. Here's to good and healthy transitions!
This conversation is beautiful and really does open eyes about the retirement of professional athletes, the “what’s next” moment especially for women. Therapy is so important along with self care in these moments. Thank you JWS and Kelley for bringing this to light

FOREVER the GOAT!!!!!!!!! Abby we miss you!!!!!
I love the part of life that is being able to laugh over past suffering.
I am hoping there will be more episodes of this...the last one was with Rose Lavelle 3 months ago. What a fantastic show.
Awesome conversation. Best part of Kelley’s retirement is that she’ll be on JWS more! :]
