    That planking out on the bike is pretty brilliant. he has a nice downhill section and he is reducing his aerodynamic profile to a fraction of normal. I'm kind of surprised you don't see that a lot on any race with a long downhill section.

  • @thehoogard
    @thehoogard ปีที่แล้ว +21

    The guy doing "hurdles" is Stefan Hom, Swedish olympic gold high jumper. One of few guys over 2.40 meters, and record holder of in-doors I think. He also has the "unofficial" world record of being the one who's jumped the highest above his own height. High-jumpers are known for being extremely tall, whereas Stefan was quite average (around 180 cm or so).
    The hurdles were just part of his regular training routine :) #casual

    • @mikefelty2625
      @mikefelty2625 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      That may be a street class, but could also be any number of Sportsman classes too. That one is pretty wild that his chute saved him from flipping backwards, and came down wheels down. I saw a guy running 1/8 mile once that had a couple nitrous kits, and power wheelied off the line, and with each consecutive stage. Set it down from the third wheelie at about the 600 ft mark. That was something I'll never forget. Oddly enough, it was a red first gen Camaro similar to the one in the video, but I think it was a '67 or '68, not a '69.

Some of those cars get going to so fast, and they're so aerodynamic, they can't help but lift-off. However, my favorite video of these.. The Deer playing Soccer & makes a goal and then is so happy with himself.. I wonder if he's watched the kids playing.. Either way, it's a 110% give-away of Animal Intelligence. He kicked it and 1 player said “it sounded like a bomb went off” so he makes it and half the fans are on the field and it’s insane! 2) the Miracle on Ice 3) secretariat wins belmont by 31 lengths and breaks the record “he’s moving like a Tremendous machine!” The announcer (1973). I love the movie as I'm a big baseball fan but did not know that there was a book written, probably by the general manager of the Oakland team. Billy Beane who was also previously a player with I believe the Cleveland at the time Indians now Guardians

    If you are looking to change things up with content every once in a while then Football(yes the real football, not handegg) is a good shout. Football reactions, especially among americans, has a relatively big audience on Yt and I'd wager it would bring in more viewers - and subscribers.

    If you type in ball girl baseball catches in to the search, you'll find an amazing one off catch by a young lady who climbs the wall to make it. It's about 38 seconds long, but it always makes me smile. I've seen a soccer shot in a top game similar to the clip where the ball hit the divot and diverted it past the keepers dive. Same result. And in a grass hockey game as a youngster I shot for goal, watched the ball pass the keeper and turned to run in celebration of my score. My joy cut short when I was told I'd missed. Also diverted onto the goal post and out, by a divot. Such is life. Fun though. I liked the guys on bikes, surfing to a stop and the one sliding into standing to walk off. Fun to watch though. Keep on with the joyful and interesting stuff. Have fun.

    I've watched the film, but not read the book. Alas I do not read books as much as I used to. Movies are like a more compressed version of a story. Although something is always lost or altered in compression. In any case, I enjoyed the movie quite a bit. Jonah Hill gives a great performance and Philip Seymour Hoffman is in it as well. Well directed, well acted movie with a great story.

      Same, I don't read as much anymore. But Michael Lewis is a good writer. Even when I can tell he has a bias (and I disagree), I still can't put down whatever he's written.

    I agree, only one vid seemed a 1 in a mil moment. Mine was the buck celebrating after the goal. Though two other vids peaked my interest: One was the Neo moment; being a Justin fan, I'm worried about this weekend (but haven't lost faith - at least in a fight of the night). 2nd was the "that's why people who study wrestling in the mountains of (former USSR) should not be trifled with". Not sure about you, but this weekend's rematch in London has got me a tad excited. Not sure if you will answer, but what are your pics for wins?

    Enjoyable. I'm not trying to be critical, but I can think of a few, one in a million, that should be on any list. Take Usain Bolts 100m world record, for instance.
    Like I said, it was still enjoyable

      No, that’s not for me. I really enjoy watching. There are some solid channels who commentate the fights though, I used to frequent one called WADE Concept. I don’t know if he still covers UFC but it’s worth checking out if you’re looking for one
