Hello! im Brazilian, that defeat for us(1x7 to Germany), was the most painfull thing i ever feeled in my entire life. If u dont know, we are historically the greatest nation in this sport, we are the ones who score the goals, now imagine a World Cup, in the country of football, in a semi-final, losing 7-1, it's inexplicable, everything went well for them, nothing for us. I remember that the street was painted in our colors throughout the country, watching the game. Nobody at work, nobody doing anything, just in front of the television watching the game, and seeing this shame. It still hurts us today... and it's an international joke. I hope u can react to that... will be hard for me to watch the video, but i will... Great reaction!

Yeah, I remember when that happen. I'm not into football since few years, but that day I watch score on my phone, out of curiosity, I see 5-0 at half-time in my head it was a bug, impossible, I check on the channel who plays the world cup, and I was bugging, I tried to figure out how is that possible. I remember Neymar was not there (injured, I think), and Germany was good, but it's Brazil, nation of football. Bad day for Brazil, even for us in France, we thought it's an April fool or something, we were amazed by how Germany did that and confused by how is that possible for Brazil. But for everybody, Brazil mean football, and football mean Brazil, even the best can have a bad day. Look at "my" team, we won our first title in 98, and in 2002, we were eliminated like amateur team in first round, a shame, not the same score but we were champions and next world cup barely exist. Your pain will disappear one day, don't feel bad, Brazil will remain GOAT whatever happen in future. Brazil is the football legend.

The announcer during the Bergkamp goal is Jack van Gelder, and he's known for his enthusiastic style of reporting. It was a game in the quarter finals of the World Cup vs Argentina, and it was 1-1 after two early goals in the first half. Then first Numan from the Netherlands got his second yellow card and was sent off, and with a few minutes to play Ortega from Argentina gave the Dutch goalkeeper a headbutt and was sent off as well. The goal from Bergkamp came a few minutes after that, in the 89th minute. I watched that game with my parents and a lot of colleagues from my dad's job, and the ending was absolutely crazy.

The shirt rule is relatively recent.
Some players started getting paid for sponsoring products on the shirt they wore under their jersey.
    This violated the sponsorship rules.
So they made a rule that says you get booked for taking off your shirt in celebration.

Football is also a game that they all have to move on with, after a goal is scored the game has to be resumed asap with a kick off, and all the players have to wear their team kit, in full. For over a hundred years players much better in games much bigger had managed to keep their shirt on despite being out of their mind of joy for scoring, but suddenly every bottom second league playing tapping in an easy 5-1 had to get dressed again befor the game could continue.
It was nonsense and I am glad it ended. There has to be discipline in the game and if you can't control your emotions you don't belong on a football pitch.

    • @DenUitvreter
      @DenUitvreter 10 หลายเดือนก่อน +3

@ilanN570 To be fair, lots of players wore a shirt under it with a personal or ideological message, that was a consideration too. But in my view it had already gotten out of hand as just a stupid hype without any of that. You're a professional football player, I already assumed you have a six pack.

There are actually quite a few nice back stories to the goals in this video. Dennis Bergkamp x 23 was the last minute in a tense match between arch rivals Argentina and the Netherlands to go the semi finals of the WC, and it was a goal only Bergkamp could make. There have been better players than Bergkamp, allthough not too many, but when it comes to unique goals that never got copied, he's the man.
Thuram was there, a defender who hardly ever had scored a goal, and then in a difficult WC match for the favourite and home team France when the attackers and creative players had an off day, he scored twice to decide the game. That same tournement in the final we saw Zidane, the captain but a technical, creative player, great feet, scores two headers to decide the game. He was known for a lot of things, but not his headers.
Ruling world champion and huge favourite for the title Spain had one the first matches of the WC against the Netherlands which had their weakest squad in decades, and only the few fans of the infamous manager Van Gaal had some confidence. So billions of people around the world expecting just a boring easy first round victory for Spain. Van Persie equalized just before half time with that diving lob header. In the 2nd half the Netherlands crushed Spain with Robben scoring the 5th as was shown. Also for the non Dutch or not fands of Dutch football a match and score like that just sends a shockwave through the first week of the WC and that is great for everybody but the Spain supporters.

@@mavii918 "If you don't have the first touch you have nothing" is from himself. That's because he already knew what he had to do before recieving the ball, and he could only turn little space into time or little time into enough space if the first touch was perfect. His was, can't remember a poor first touch from him, and he used to time his jump to cushion the ball hanging in the air.

What’s crazy is that this enthusiasm and passion is present even in the lower moments. A lot of these clips are from successful winning teams. Which is amazing to watch. I’m personally an Evertonian and my team hasn’t been the best for a while now. A couple seasons back we survived relegation and the scenes at goodison where some of the best I’ve ever been a part of. If you’re a fan of football that passion is there win lose or draw.

In the 90' Dennis Bergkamp scores the winning goal for the Netherlands and what a beautiful goal it was. Amazing pass, amazing first touch, 3 touches in total. I know what you mean about knowing the story behind the games. For example, it shows Sergio Aguero scoring a fairly innocuous, routine goal against Queens Park Rangers in the Premiership in 2011. The significance of the goal was that it meant that Manchester City won the Premiership title for the first time in 43 years. Also, Manchester United, City's arch rivals, had just finished their game and were currently at the top of the table. City's game was still playing and needed a goal to win and leapfrog United into first place. At 93 minutes and 20 seconds, i.e. injury time, Aguero scored the goal to give City their title. That's why the crowd went crazy and he ripped his shirt off and ran to the fans to celebrate.

There are a whole lot of highlight videos on the 7-1 one match here on youtube, including an official fifa one. Basically, Brazil was lacking two key players, including Neymar, and completely crumbled under pressure. Given both post-halftime goals by Germany were scored by Schürrle, there was a joke going around that German coach Jogi Löw told players during the break not to humiliate their hosts too much in the second half, but Schürrle was just out on the toilet at that moment...
To add insult to injury, German striker Miroslav Klose used the opportunity to break the record of a Brazilian player for most goals scored during worldcup games - and since the Brazilian player had already retired, there was no chance for him to get it back.

At one point, football jersey was made up of 2 parts, the jersey itself and an additional layer inside intended to absorb the sweat. Once you took it off, it was really difficult to put it back and players spent like 5 minutes to put the jersey back. That's why they decided to give a yellow card to players who remove their jersey, to avoid wasting time.
At 11:28 the french commentor is saying (after the first World Cup title for France): "After seeing this, we can die peacefully. I mean, as late as possible, but we can" Still have goosebumps hearing this 26 years later!
08:30 : Zinedine Zidane during his last international competition with France team against Brazil in 1/4 final. The round before, France played against Spain and spanish journalists were saying Spain will make Zidane retired and Zidane score the last goal in the 3-1 french victory and send the spanish team home... In 1/4 final against Brazil, Zidane did one of the greatest individual performance ever.

yep, this 7:1 win of Germany over Brazil is by far the most iconic football game in history for many reasons. Apart from obvious things like that usually just dont happen (its literally a century exception) between two heavy weights in the last games, it broke tons of records (in football history and for the internet). One of the many is that it was also the first time a European team won the world cup in South America. And this right in the 'center' against Brazil (AND the next game against Argentine). For Brazil it was also for such reasons (down to details like loosing the Nr. 1 World's ranking of the highest scorer from Brazil (Ronaldo) to Germany (Klose)). For Brazil one of those days like in every ones life when really everything goes wrong and one bad news adds to the next - while for Germany quite the opposite.

You might host a World Cup, as a football power house, maybe twice, three times at a stretch (although England haven’t since 1966) in your lifetime, so it’s a great honour, and being humiliated in your own back yard, even more so being THE team to beat in a World Cup, made that game a wild watch

Touching on what you said about retiring from the job you love must be really difficult. Sadly, the suicide rate of former players is quite high at around the 40's age (going on podcasts from former players), something about being conditioned from an early age, failing to reach the heights of emotions, missing the team spirit, and many other factors. I want to add, in my lifetime, my favourite all time player was Zidane. (the one that made you smile and nod in approval as he took on half the opposition).

As a European (German) girl, i live on loving football 🩵
I consider myself very lucky that i have been raised by a football passionate loving family, When you understand it and watch couple of games and get hooked on it...not a single thing in the world can give you the feeling this game does
The thing about it from my own experience, through the different heartbreaks i had and the days that really sucked, still when my team win i forget about everything and feel very happy for weeks despite everything bad happening, BUT if everything going extremely well for you and you have all what you want but your team lost you still gonna be so sad even if everything else is going amazingly which really sucks...
I have seen many Americans in the last 2 years go from "what's even is SOCCER and what's fun about it?" To being absolutely crazy about their team 😅

But also, passion. Imagine MOST country's boys and girls grow up kicking a round ball. Every mother of every child on every continent. Only the US doesn't really have that. The passion you see in these clips, we all feel. Through mums dads sisters brothers uncles cousins. Every four years, the world truly sees colour and culture and fun and huge passion without hate. Hi, first of all as football fan extremely enjoied this video but you were right. If you don't know, so many short clips dosn't give the power of the moment maybe you can fell it by the commentators or the fans but you cannot feel your own. Without rewatch, for me the clip Bareclona - PSG tha was an epic gama where the Barcelona Coach in a prematch interview said thet they could do 5 goal and they did. Barcelona needed 4 golas withot taking it. PSG did one so Barcelona needed 5and at the last minutes of the match they did it. 5-1. Really wondeful. As Milan fan I have to pain to si Liverpool - Milan but yeh also that one. Also the clip of the Premier league win of Manchester City, with the Manchester UTD that win his match and with the current result of Man City was ahead but at the end Aguero smash the ball into the net and Man City the championship.
So many moments to dive inside. For player clips I recommand Ronaldinho. But obviusly there are so many grat players.

10:23 The story behind the Brazil vs Germany catastrophe (1-7) is from WC 2014 in Brazil. Brazilian team was hosting it, tho they were among worst teams on the tournament. Referees helped them immensely to pass into the semifinals, but there was Germany waiting for them. No one could help them against German team, which was infinitely better. Germany could score at least 10-12 goals, but they felt bad about it and didn't play 100% half of the match. Brazil definitely deserved even worse.

It wasn't always a yellow card for taking the shirt off. The rule was brought in in 2004 to curb excessive celebration, partly to stop time-wasting and partly because it is unsportsmanlike and might incite opposing fans. Players still do it though sometimes if they get caught up in the moment or don't care

The took their shirts of and some threw them onto the crowd. It was used as a method of timewasting so they introduced this rule.

Yes, shirt out is yellow card.
As I can remember, it started to get penalised because some players had an ad (or some sort of "message") in the shirt they had below the club's shirt.
Even if they have nothing below the club's shirt, the rule prevails.
It is also punished if the player goes outside the pitch (like.. To celebrate with the fans, within certain limits) or celebrate in an unsportsmanlike manner ("in the face" of a rival or opposing fans).

Messi's goal against Getafe was as identical, dribble by dribble, as Maradona's goal against England in the World Cup of 1986. Maradona did it at the peak of his career, and in part, due to the political implications of being the only catharsis Argentinians had 4 years after the war, it was chosen "The Goal of the Century". Messi did a practically identical goal dribbling 6 player and the goal keeper at the beginning of his career, and then went to surpass Maradona as the best football player in history.
Agüero' goal was at the last minute of extra time, Manchester City was losing 1-2 and needed to score another 2 goal in the 4 minutes left to win the championship for the first time in their history; they scored one of the goals (now 2-2) and with only 3 minutes left Güero scored the 3rd handed the Premier's league championship to his Manchester City for the 1st time their history.

People are wrong they clearly don't know why the shirt rule exists. The booking for taking your shirt off rule came in because of Diego Forlan when he played for us Manchester United i think it might if been Liverpool we were playing he scored took his shirt off then has the most trouble any human has ever had trying to put a top on. The game resumed and he was still in tthe process of trying to get it back on. However he still had to play this resulted in him running around trying to put his shirt on for quite a few minutes while playing. It was funny, ill find the clip and write it in replies
