What about using Serle's Masterwork and then also having the Fire Burst trigger on hit? That way you can double dip on fire damage dealt to a target. Yeah, it sucks away a lot of the crit, but you gain an additional skill that's triggered on every single hit along with the triggered spell.

Its tough because you also lose the 2 supported by mods as well. But if you were not going crit at all then that wouldn't be a big deal. Like if you were just using lancing steel to enable your weapon triggers which I think is a perfectly reasonable way to play this then I think that could make sense

I was just doubling up on firestorm because it is good damage I haven't played this character in a few weeks but I did switch off firestorm to fix the visual clarity problem. I switch to a version with fire projectiles in the axe and ice spear in my chest. Current version is a little boring but it is very strong, just detonate dead of chain reaction and volatile dead in the axe
Do you think there's some potential for some kind of ignite + flame surge build? I've never played ignite, or flame surge, or with the axe so i have no idea if it's even a good idea or how it would work.
@@philllllllll I feel like a stinker in saying no but I don't think so. Ingjte synergizes with big single hits since you can only have 1 ignite on an enemy. This axe synergizes with many small hits since it lets you trigger many spells a second

I had a weird idea if focusing mainly on an attack skill to inflict a massive ignite and then having the axe proc flame surge. Even if it wasn't "maximizing" the procs. But it's probably not worth it

@@AshrielDrummer good luck! Sab sounds way more fun Thankfully the axe is relatively ssf friendly since farming an awakener's orb isn't too bad. The real tricky part with sabo on trees I've tried to make is solving the crit. You can solve the mana cost with eb + instant leech. Without squire I wonder if it makes more sense to go cyclone? Since you likely only want 1 skill in your axe and then cyclone is good enough which also lets you use brittle boots to consistently keep up that + base crit. Alternatively you can farm up a leadership's price

Go Eldritch battery and instant es leech from the tree. Use a large cluster jewel so you can have two crit mediums with basics of pain and pressure points. Use a diamond flask with "flask charge on crit". Defensively I would likely go lightning coil + grace and spell sup. I think you could make an argument for going utula's but you would need to get all non red sockets which would be a huge pain in the ass

Just can't figure out how to consistently gain the charges

@@poopbutts you can actually get a lot of charges and a lot of charge generation on a replica badge assassin yoinking +2 frenzy from trickster, pathing to disciple of the forbidden and anointing overcharge but realistically what you get is a character that's kinda all over the place and has nothing other than crit and charge generation the biggest thing that kills it is the new Discharge quality requiring you to get to 200% quality to never consume charges, as you're now basically capped at 69% chance in the best possible setup which I think is now ashes with a +1 socketed Dialla's and a level 5 awakened enhance

Hoi! Here my stupid idea when i saw this.. thinking of a better Ngamahu's Flame. Using Battlemage/Spellblade and put 1 or 2 skills with squire. And then a full dmg melee setup, since melee was buffed. E.g. cyclone with fire projectiles solving the problem to not run into every pack.
@@floppgaming4394 it's going to be tough to scale the damage of the spell well enough to have it deal decent damage but Inquisitor does scale generic crit really well so mayyyybe you could get it to work
wait you might be a genius. If I get the axe into a state of having both supported by crit mods and open suffix it blocks the normal local crit chance and normal crit multi from rolling. So, if I lock suffixes and reforge crit I'm 50% to hit endurance on crit. Edit - I would make sure a weapon like this exists in standard before wasting the resources. It would be weird if the crt on endurance could roll with crit strikes since they both add local crit but idk, they are different groups

Yep! I wanted to try sabo but went with quizzy because it is easier to fix your crit with such a bad base crit weapon Sabo would be more fun though, and even more nonsense. If you do try that take solving your mana/es sustain for your skills seriously. 27ish skills a second is no joke and Sab would make that 54.
@@poopbutts One thing that might be fun on Saboteur is using the axe to trigger Armageddon Brand of Recall to autoplace brands and then using a CoC link to recall them. It sounds a bit weird but since you want a lot of Brand Recall levels and quality it actually pairs fairly well with Static Strike since then you could abuse Ambush for free attack crit. I threw together a quick pob with an 0.858s Brand Recall CD and Static Strike hitting a 4th beam every 0.86s to sync up, which would be somewhere around 16 triggered Armageddon Brand of Recalls a second and should ignore the penalty from Triggerbots.

I was also thinking about ambush + static strike or rage vortex of berserking but now thinking more about it jsut leap slam migh t be enough since 3 hits gets us to 6 brands since each trigger creates two thanks to triggerbots.
@@poopbutts one fun thing for RV is that Ravenous Passion easily sustains the rage if you're triggering like 12 Archmage spells a second or something equally stupid When RV falls off you just wait for Cloak or link Archmage to Frostblink to spend enough mana for more rage.
Will do! The axe is pretty easy to make, you just need to farm up an awakener's orb but the power runes and squire are certainly ssf unfriendly. Unsure of whether this kind of setup is worth doing without the squire unfortunately. Like, a pseudo 5 link axe like this might still be good enough if you just use 1-2 skills that are really strong like detonate dead of chain (especially with archmage)

Yep! 27% cooldown recovery speed gets you to 5 triggers a second. I think 52% gets you to 6

@@philllllllll Ignite damage is generally a lot lower than most archetypes unfortunately. What you do gain though is comfy dps uptime
I'd definitely be curious in investigating Sab/triggerbot options especially with SSF gear where Squire is not realistically available
