Logging hillside timber with a John Deere feller buncher (643H) and John Deere harvester (703) with Waratah (622b). Unpredictable and ever changing spingtime weather in Northern Wisconsin. Changing oil in John Deere processor with Harvest King hydraulic oil. Rod skillfully uses his hot saw to fell trees.

I've been running a processor for 12 years now. I've had one chain shot in those 12 years. It hit the top left corner of my front window and barely made a dent. Three chain shots in a short period of time tells me there's a problem with the chains.

That was definitely one of the issues. It's a combination from the best that I can tell. Old chains, too high bar pressure (bar speed), lean on bar oil, lack of chain shot guard, and cutting off the stump in deep snow.
