When I was in junior high, a long, long time ago, I had a “boyfriend“ who I barely even ever talk to, but he broke up with me so that he could have another girlfriend, who he would surely barely ever talk to you as well. So my friends and I spent all of one afternoon contacting beauty salons and making appointments for somebody named danielle. His name was Daniel, so I’m sure poor 12-year-old Daniel got a ton of Cole’s back confirming his eyebrow waxes, his bikini waxes, his nails and his hair style appointment! But then there was no Internet and using the telephone was just as good.

When Congress says sex trafficking they just mean sex work in general. Ironically, a lot of the laws passed meant to “prevent sex trafficking” actually make it harder to find and prosecute
omg yes. like the laws about massage parlors. in an effort to stop prostitution and trafficking from happening in massage parlors, a lot of states have laws that they can only be open between 6am and 6pm. this has literally changed nothing. they could just enforce the laws they already have by inspecting the workers and checking them for massage licenses, which none of the women being trafficked are going to have. but they never do, so it just continues to happen during business hours. it’s honestly probably even less efficient than the missed connections system lol.

If you think these politicians care about children being trafficked, you're being naive. They're the main ones buying underage "company."
There was a /reply all episode on that law that was super eye opening. Can't remember the episode name but it went over the bill and they talked to a sex worker about their experiences, the site they used that was shut down because of it, and how their work has changed since. Super good listen.

I used to hookup relatively frequently with other men on craigslist, no weird fetishes, all vanilla stuff, etc., but after the banning they pushed all of the hookups into paid/semi-paid platforms like Grindr, etc. I'm not closeted, but a lot of those guys were. It allowed them a way to explore their sexuality without having to enter the gay world (TM), and it was a good experience for some of them. I think removing this zone really ultimately hurt guys like that because it forces them, like you say, to go make paid profiles on sites with pictures, which they fundamentally don't want to do or aren't ready to do.

When I was 16 I took a medication and there was a 2% chance of a side effect being lactation and they DIDNT TELL ME. My boyfriend and I were hooking up and milk came out and when I tell you we both LOST our shit. I went to the doctor crying thinking I was somehow pregnant on birth control at 90lbs. We figured it out afterwards and I stopped taking that medication but it was so embarrassing and awful for me 😂
