We're used to it. I'm half Glaswegian and half Dundonian so this kind of stuff is normal to me. Tourists always get a shock when seeing it, their romantic fantasy depiction of Scotland with picturesque mountains and kilt-wearing clansmen bagpipe players is crushed when they see the reality of the poverty and post-industrial past we have. Neds constantly destroying everything, extreme urban decay, absurdly high drug deaths, and poverty. It's sickening but it's the truth.

I love going to old places like this, I live in Ireland and we used to go to the Hellfire club in Dublin which is about an hour walk from where I live. The Hellfire club is a very old decayed stone building but it is more intact than any other from it's time with rooms to explore, it isn't fenced off and anyone can go and no security or tour guides are present, no one making money from your visit it's just there. It's in the middle of farm land with a small forest close by. Good place to have a few drinks and get stoned

In any other city they would have used their old docks and set up a historic site, not in Glasgow, not with Glasgow city council. I live round the corner from here and it breaks my heart at the state of it. So much history just sitting rotting. Glasgow to a T. I went to visit the shipyard museum In Govan- well worth a visit, but a community in Govan had to raise the money themselves to build it with zero support from the local authority.

In Hull, they filled in all their old docks and turned them into gardens, and, er, a shopping centre.
they filled in 80% of govan those docks hes walking on are the very last 2 repair dock as relics, I live just to the left
