    Just came across this hike. Thanks for taking me along. Memories galore for me growing up in Duluth. I could smell the earth under your feet. So special. So beautiful. Lovely narration and photography. Cheers and good hiking.

    I asked the rangers on Isle Royale how they get the lumber into the backcountry for all the plank bridges. They said it is air dropped and cached at strategic locations

    I love the late fall light filtering through trees , it changes the look of the landscape. The cinematography of this video was awesome. I also enjoyed your real feelings narration. You captured all of the emotions that a hiker experiences.

    Fantastic video. Beautiful area, very similar to the 6.2 million acre Adirondack Park in NY.

      @Midwest Backpacker thank you so much! If you ever want some more remote hiking, definitely come to Maine. This trail reminds me a lot of the North Maine Woods!

    I lived and worked at a resort on Snowbank in the 90s. The story I heard about the saw blades was they were left when Theodore Roosevelt stopped the logging back there protecting the pines that make up the old pines loop.

    Gotta get down there to hike the BWCA/Minnesota one of these years. The Land of Shug haha. What’s that on your sternum strap? A microphone?

    I went to hike the kek a few years ago. I brought a bottle of whiskey and blood on the tracks by Dylan. got fucking lit by myself in the woods the 2nd night. Hard hiking the next day, wouldn't recommend

    Nice work on the 4 days 💪🏻I’d like to hot this trail and it gave a good rundown on what to expect. That remoteness sure does ware on a guy quickly.

    Have you had any problems with bears up there I know you hang a bear bag but do you feel that it’s just a air magnet for them when it’s in the tree.

    • @MidwestBackpacker
      @MidwestBackpacker  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      There are definitely bears in the area. I don’t think having it hang will attract more bears than not. Plus hanging it a healthy distance from camp will attract them to the bag an not you. Plus, hopefully it makes it more difficult for them to destroy the food. Good question. Thanks for watching.

    • @MidwestBackpacker

      I don't like out and backs either but the logistics of doing this one one way were too difficult. Since I was walking so fast, I caught lot of things I missed the first time.
