Ohhh, Martha. An astute interpretation of a wonderful example of Bach's mastery of the keyboard and human emotions (Sarabande). Argerich starts with a peppery, animated Prelude. I first glimpse her extraordinary musicianship in the lovely Allemande; which almost plays itself, but some bungle it. Not Martha. She follows the waves of forward motion from one musical phrase to the next. There are no bar lines. Gorgeous. A bouncy Courante -- then, the exquisite Sarabande. She shows such sensitivity!! With a hint of rubato when seemly. Gorgeous, nuanced. I didn't want it to end!! Bouree II is beautifully captivating. A stunning performance of Bach. Thank you, David.
Martha Argerich can not do wrong, whatever she plays . . . at least in my book. There are some admired pianists, whom I 'grant' liberties. She is one of them. Thank you!
My thoughts exactly! A world-class, A-lister perfect performance but with absolutely none of her own flair or ornamentation! Why did she play it so straight?
That s one of the silliest remarks I have ever read! No articulation?! It is obvious right from the first bar and what makes this recording and interpretation absolutely fantastic. You are mixing up with rubato which some harpsichordists use a lot indeed.
@@JoEbY-X the answer is in your question. Because she is a first class musician and feels it like that. It is her perfect way to play this suite and I think it is utterly beautiful.
I can tell Bach enjoyed this piece
Best comment so far! :)
This piece is hard to learn but incredibly fun to play.
Found my new favorite bach piece😅❤

THANK YOU for this recording!!! ❤
Just masterful piano playing.
What a pity that we cannot hear her
a recital where she is playing solo
without any orchestra!
I think she says she dislikes performing alone, I think she likes the camaraderie of music making
Such wonderful energy!
Magnificent!
Awesome! 🎹🎶👏👏

Aucune articulation 😢. Heureusement que l on redecouvre la musique ancienne et que le dogme disant que Bach doit être joué linéaire est mort

C magnifique ! Comme d habitude les roastbeef n y comprennent rien !
