My F4 BoS Power Knight doesn't discriminate, heck he has 2 INT and 3 CHR and will absolutely hammer anything, even flirt to a Mirelurk Queen, after she ate his legs.

That is something about ghouls I've often wondered about. Does the stress of being rejected by most people increase the rate of transformation from ghoul, like Penny or Hancock or the Vault Tech Rep, into ferals or is it simply a chemical imbalance that does that. After all ghoulification is relevant to genetic encoding. But why do some seem to go feral immediately, while others do it over time yet some never seem to go feral at all 🤔
From what I remeber reading and hearing in lore entries and stuff it has in large parts to do with stimulation. A lot of the people who are feral ghouls are such because they have spend the last two hundred years trapped in collapsed buildings and parking structures and stuff like that. See the same place without a way out for too long and you will go nuts eventually. Going feral does seem to be a threat to a lot of gouls but it does not seem to affect everybody. It could also have to do with the amount of radiation they were hit with and are exposed to. That is why a lot of irradiated places often also feature feral ghouls.
If you play Nuka World and Oswalds quest you learn that Despair is a large factor in that process so those who become extremely affected emotionally have a larger chance of going feral, but in the end, most of it seems to be random.

@@Morganaplays no, there is no known cure, once you mutate until a ghoul, thats it, and theres a random chance you'll go feral at any time, depending on different factors
My read of the Nuka World thing was that it was radiation based. The Kiddie Kingdom Ghouls went feral for the most part because of the huge exposures to rads they were getting from the sprayers they used for defense. The more they relied on it, the more they degenerated unless they were lucky like Oswald and became sentient Glowing Ones. Something that considering we run into all of two them so far (Jason Bright and him), is probably a very outside shot.
It left me with the impression that the reason most ghouls are ferals is a sort of vicious cycle. Because they're "immune" to radiation and won't die from it, they end up living in radioactive places. For defense like Kiddie Kingdom in Nuka World, or to avoid bigoted human settlers (kinda like Underworld) and choosing radioactive places because the Smoothskins won't set up in there, etc. And as they bask in the radiation, they degenerate more and more.
Which is probably why the relative minority of sentient ghouls we see all frequent areas without much in the way of Rads by comparison. They assimilated with safe communities and didn't further degenerate through rad exposure.
I cannot ever, not hear the voice of Jet from Cowboy Bebop when Paige talks. It's just so danged distinctive.

Well that opening, it's definitely about as different from "I wanna go back to West Virginia" as it can be. Well done Ox with "Which side are you on", it's catchy.
The lore video is also interesting and kept me watching to the end. I know you've been busy with real life lately so this is especially appreciated!

Through all my fallout play throughs I Usually picked the "good guys" or the settlers, however I was very pleased with 76's raider group. They are so interesting and well made, I had to choose them in the vault raid.
I completely agree.. There is always a black & white good & bad. However in 76 you have the obvious good guys in the Settlers, but still the Raiders don't feel like bad guys. They feel like a more guarded, less outgoing & more ruthless good guy. I love how they pulled off that perspective of them.
@@JDub0623 Simple. Meg is the more pragmatic & practical raider , whereas Lev or the Blood Eagles are the more ruthless 'kill whatever you want and take what you want' type

It would be funny to find a ghoulified garrahan family member that keeps the grudge in post war Appalachia and argues with Penny everytime he/she sees her.
The one and only streamer I watch for anything other than cod this his content is incredible.

It doesn't, for our purposes. Gold is almost as efficient a neutron blocker as lead.
Gold just becomes radioactive. A few years ago there was some drama about a shipment of gold rings causing cancer in Asia. Turns out they were radioactive.

In addition to the Charisma check for location info for the sensor and altimeter, you can pass an Intelligence check to suggest she clean Motherlode's connectors with a toothbrush and some Abraxo. Then she only needs the interpolator.
That's hilarious! There's tons of these checks that either don't notice or come across through the 4 times I've completed wastelanders. I wish I had been more thorough.
I am happy 76 added NPCs to the game it didn't feel close to a fallout game without them

I think that hornwright was based off of PH Milling, or at least the logos are very similar, PH Milling is a Canadian grain milling company, not a mining company though, but still, the logos are very similar
This intro song is good and appropriate but I prefer the other. I think you really got into "I wanna go back" and it really embodies the entire feel for 76.
I've heard an adaptation of that opening that I do immensely enjoy.

If the 20 hours of passing red speech checks were what you needed to play a Fallout game, then yes, it has it now. It always had tens of hours of recorded audio and 100+ hours of lore, and the parts of the game that kept people playing Fallout 4 for 500-1000 hours were there from the beginning, but yes, it now has "AI". Emphasis on finger quotes.

Still what i dont understand to this day is why in fallout do we have futuristic robots and laser guns or advanced technology yet theres still black and white colored TVs or people who act like they are still in the 1960s but the year is 2077
In the fallout universe the transistor was not developed until the 2050's and the economic boom of the 1950s continued (avoiding the recessions of the 1970s) and the culture stayed with it

You power armor character won't have such an easy time now that One Wasteland is here. When it takes 3 or 4 shots to kill a brahmin, I am sure Robobrains are much more bullet-spongy. The robots will scale up to your level AND weapons have been nerfed.

You can do whatever you want to friend, but don't go in to the chat of livestream and try to promote your petition because if you do, the channel chat mods will catch you and kick you from the channel

Hey oxhhorn, I got a question relating to far harbor in fallout 4, my question really lies in what it was before the war, what was it called, what was its attraction and what was done there in terms of its pre war existence
Use to be called Bar Harbor. Over the years the B eroded to look like an F thus the name change
Bar Harbor, a fishing industry and tourist destination along with a nuclear sub base in the FO universe
