That's a great idea! I fell off a ladder last year onto cement. I'm so glad all I got was a concussion and a black eye. Could have been much worse! At 65, I no longer get up on tall ladders!
In the example, I was putting on the second coat, I wish I had recorded the first coat. But I’ve done all kinds of colors. As long as you have a steady hand it works great. Maybe practice in a closet first.
We’ve got cabinets that previously painted and glazed. It is starting to come off around the pulls. Would sanding be enough before priming or would we need to strip the previous paint and glaze?
You only need to sand. Stripping is almost never needed. Only if the old finish is flaking off in large sections. Coming off around the pulls is a pretty normal thing, just sand, prime and paint.
They make a tool for that, bud. Not just tape and an extension pole. It's a clip you just push your brush into that has a swivel with a wing nut on it so you can angle your brush.
Try to avoid hitting the ceilings at all costs! In all honesty though, it happens. Be ready with some ceiling white touch up paint is about all you can do.
