  • Li Kim hilariously presents her case for managing disappointment in order to overcome the obstacles to one's future. As a former tv host of a paranormal show, she elaborates on how understanding uncertainty, impermanence, gratitude and the idea of attachments can help relieve the inevitability of disappointment. One word that best describes Li Kim is ‘Vivacious’. Always one to try out something new, her work career diversified from manufacturing, network marketing, publisher, TV host and recently an author. Her main passion is working with people. As TV Host of the popular series The Paranormal Zone she got to work with more than people!
Bold and unafraid to speak her mind, Li Kim is often mistaken for being brash, which is one of the many conflicts she faces in the many roles she undertakes on a daily basis. But in every situation, she holds her head high, and carries on with a smile on her face and compassion in her heart. This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community. Learn more at www.ted.com/tedx

The issue is I am constantly disappointed, but the other issue is you're all disappointing.

Why does she start out talking about paranormal and wanting to be younger? I thought this was suppose to help you learn to deal with disappointment?

sounds privileged like she's never left the house. she has no examples just keeps mentioning social media like that's the depth of her reality. what a joke

what kind of examples? i thought she was a really good presenter and delivered "manage your disappointments," well. why are you disappointed? We're on media now...might explain the references about social media...we're always on-line...

You realize she is trying to relate to KIDS not herself? This is not a TedTalk where someone learns from something because of certain events or actions. You get these examples when she says “boy or girl”, “your”, “you”, and “yourself”. You barely hear her say “me” or “I” unless she is talking about the technology that is not working or her KIDS. She is trying to teach children the value of getting over themselves, grow up, and face reality with compassion and humility. Learn to accept disappointment, because it is invetiable.
      Chill out.
