5:00 People often ask me why I'm super careful and fussy when I travel when it comes to the meats I buy, if I bother at all... I tend only to shop at MS supermarkets in the Phils for meats and fish for as much guarantee as possible. I worry about these meats laid out in that temperature, plus the rate of multiplication of certain bacteria, say every 20 mins, would land me in trouble quite easily and ruin a holiday. At 16 or so I worked for a smoke salmon company in the UK, and it was mandatory to complete a food hygiene course in order to properly understand what happens to food under various conditions over time, the dangers posed, and how the government legally demands that foods such as meat\fish ought to be handle to eliminate such risks, to make us aware how crucial it is to handle food properly, to protect others and businesses from forceful shutdown. Even though I've spend at least 8 years at university for other career subjects, I keep realising that my food-hygiene course was one of the most important subjects I ever studied - the lessons are deeply etched into the mind and never let you forget.
Those Meats are affordable, the people selling those Meats and Vegetables are basically working poor, and the people shopping are as well, the regulatory scheme you speak of would put people out of business, and make the foods not affordable anymore....consider the other side of things...just a thought
Hi @Gabriel P J Gervais its good to buy food where you are comfortable to buy them 😊 Just a fact, there are lots of people buying meat or fish in these markets who are really very keen in checking which is fresh and which is not, they usually judge it by the looks, the touch, and the smell. @@-BigIi- You also have to understand that for most of human history people ate meat and fish without refrigeration. There are local ways of handling food with relative safety. As a westerner, I understand your concerns and I also understand that no family wants to eat potentially dangerous food. Filipino cooks are extra careful - one of the reasons many of them only eat well done meats.
@@Dungeonhammer Thank you for replying, and thank you for understanding the personal concern I mentioned regarding meats hanging around in hot temperature for hours and how hard it would be for me to consume them. I simply wouldn't take the risk. I'd rather eat fruits and non-meat foods all day long rather than take the risk, which could also be deadly. There is no ice present, these are opened to the hot temperatures, under which bacteria of concern multiply rapidly, and I know what happens to meats and fish under such conditions, and I know these would harm me, that's why I'm careful when I travel, because I know I couldn't survive the same practices as locals. I know a number of Filipinos, and one of the things I noticed about them is the frequency they complain to me in facebook about stomach pains due to eating bad food; they themselves note it, eg my friend Angelica complains about 2-3 times or more in a month at times of feeling she has eaten something bad, and I often advise the ones I speak with as friends to just be very careful. Of course people can eat what they have and want, but I spoke merely for myself when I travel, or else my holidays would be ruined.

Best Philippines walk-about I have seen and I have seen many other folks attempts. PROS: you aim the camera at peoples faces. You aim the camera into the shops. You zoom in on interesting things. Good work. I am subscribing to your channel. All I would suggest if you can get a camera with 4K at 60 Hz, do so. Sometimes swinging the camera, or passing vehicles etc, gets blurry due to the 30Hz frame rate. Keep up the excellent work. Do no be afraid to show us the poorest parts too. We all need to know how folks live and hopefully we all can help uplift those who need support.
Hi @Lo Mo actually my camera have a shot until 4k. I did this on 2.7k at 60Hz. However, its my phone that downgrades it to 1440. Hopefully, when the channel grows ill be able to buy a phone that can accommodate 4k photos 😊 thanks for watching, glad you liked the video! 😊💗

22:33 well actually "TODA" is a suffix to every group of trycicle drivers. The prefix comes from a part of the name of the place wherever the their group is at.

Hi @Ed Ca
glad you liked the video! 😊 thanks for watching! 😊🙏💙💛💗🍿
If you weren't squemish about preparing fish and could cook, you'd eat like a king every day. I bet your Filipina would appreciate that too...
Love the prices and names of food that are put in video also.
Thank you
Hi @Kevin M
glad you liked the video 😊💗
Very Good.

2023.
I wasn’t sure if your videos will be like the others or they walk around and look at girls asses and everything else, but you had me when you started to post the prices of the different products, which is very important to a lot of people around the world. I think that puts us a little closer to the Philippines, and it’s people at the market. I think many of us appreciate your attention to detail. I just subscribed and thank you for sharing.
Hi @tango down
nope they're not like mine 😂 because they are guys. They don't wanna get slapped when they do that. Glad you the details and the video 😊💗

Thanks again Manila Girl for your great videos. The way you film is really great. The pace that you go at is perfect. Not too fast and not too slow. It truly feels like you’re there when watching. In a couple of weeks I will actually be there in the Philippines so I truly can’t wait! 😁 👍🏽
Hi @Dream331

@@manilagirltours8940 Thanks so much, Manila Girl. I wont be there for Holy Week though I have experienced it several times in the Philippines before, mostly in the Pangasinan. I look forward to Manila as well but I really love life in the province 😁

THANK YOU FOR SHARING IN THE RAIN, THAT MUST HAVE BEEN A SOGGY DAY, BUT THANK I DO APPRECIATE YOUR EFFORT, BE BLESSED,
Hi @im1sinfulman
i like the rainy season more than the extremely hot weather 😅
thanks for watching! 😊🙏💗💙💛🍿
Hi @Lo Mo
actually my camera have a shot until 4k. I did this on 2.7k at 60Hz. However, its my phone that downgrades it to 1440. Hopefully, when the channel grows ill be able to buy a phone that can accommodate 4k photos 😊 thanks for watching, glad you liked the video! 😊💗

greetings from Indonesia, your place is almost the same as our cities in Indonesia
Hi @MusiK_Music
lots of viewers do mention that, making me more interested in visiting you country maybe next year 😊 thanks for watching! ☺️💗🍿🥭
Yea Manilla Girl!!!!!!
Lovin' it, MGT. Thanks for profiling QC, rain or shine. Not too familiar with QC but have so many relatives there living in Fairview Subs and townhomes. Is Novaliches part of QC too? Those alleys look very shady. I would not walk thru there at night unless I have my friends, Smith & Wesson with me. A multitude of gratitude for your unselfish efforts showing us you city.
Hi @Tim Bartels
yes its still part of Quezon City. That's right, though people are nice, always walk along with people who knows the place 😊
thanks for always watching! 😊🙏💙💛💗🍿

Great video, I like that you've added the prices to your videos, if you would talk a little bit that would be great as well just because it is a very long video and it's so quiet. Do you live in this area or do you just visit to vlog?
Hi @James R
glad you liked the video. Sadly, the channel is all about slow silent walks but i do talk when necessary 😅 im just from the next city 😊

Looks very polluted and unsanitary
Ate ganda naman ng tour mo at tumitingin ka sa mga benebenta or prices kasi mostly tour nakikita ko they just go straight no stopping at all unless they had to turn. Nakaka miss na pinas and just by watching your vlog parang pinapasyal mo na rin kami hehe. Thank you from California.

Pinoys who's acknowledge me...i want marry u.....
Thanks for all you do! This exposure is necessary for everyone to see. You are a brave young lady going everywhere by yourself. By the looks of things, you are safer amongst impoverished people than the "upper class"?
I refuse to live in a city for many reasons... mostly due to crime. Blessings to all!
Hi @Jim
it seems it's safe everywhere 😁 just gotta explain what you're doing and not mess with the people
You seem to get a variety of looks and responses. Obviously, you don't present a threat, or you're a very pretty lady.
Keep up the good work, and stay safe!
