As a American who travels every year to the Philippines to visit family in the Malabon , Makati and Baliuag areas I have a great appreciation for the country. Reading through the comments on most of these videos I see a common theme from Western citizens who see the joy for life these people have despite their circumstances in life and then complain of how sad and depressed they themselves are despite having all the comforts of living in a first world country affords you. Maybe more than anything else these videos should awaken you to the fact that material things and wealth are not what brings you happiness. They just make life easier. True happiness comes from within. Your outlook on life and the energy you put out into the Universe when you spread Love and Respect to all flows back to you. Be present. Live in the moment and appreciate what you have , not what you want. Traveling the World and seeing and meeting so many people from so many different cultures and baring witness to how others live has given me a unique and meaningful perspective and the wisdom to realize how fortunate I am. Peace and prosperity to all!!
Originally, I was horrified and saddened with the conditions the people are living in. You can see that most have more joy in their heart than most of us Westerners. Thanks for sharing your insights. May God bless you all!
Double edge sword situation. On one side, you'd expect them to be depressed living in these 'horrible' conditions but they are not. They are sincerely happy working with what they got. Every little 'minor' thing is a blessing. On the other side, this same feeling of contentment make acts of progress slow and inefficient. I grew up in a place like this and memories of them still make me smile to this day. But I have enough awareness to strive for better and so I studied and worked harder, bought property in the province and lived a more quiet life. Anyone can do it. Awareness is key.
Hi @josef rootgum yep thats right. You see most of them wants to be happy no matter what. Life is too short to be stressed for too long. So sometimes when you visit these houses, you'll see some drinking with their friends, some playing bingo, cards with them, some just chillin out 😅 its how you see life that makes it great and how grateful of what you have 😊 thanks for watching! 😊💗🥭
This is what I have always said about the kids there - so very happy, even with the conditions - I have taken so many lovely pics of them there - what a joy for me
Good for you that you have that determination to live a better life. Where and when did you buy your property at? How much are they going for nowadays?
Like a lot of people I can’t get enough of these slum videos from around the world. The people in the slum always seems so happy and their culture, buildings, and landscapes are so colorful and filled with life. I wish I was happy like them and not alone. I feel like why they are often so much happier than me in the US is because they have close families and community where in the USA we’re very shut off to each other and lonely. I’d rather be poor and happy than sad and rich/middle class.
Hi @Isabella M its true that most of the Filipinos are family oriented and they look out for each other, they even look after their neighbors welfare sometimes 😅 For me, the meaning of happiness is being with the people you love, care the most, and enjoying lots of different moments with them 😊 thanks for watching! 😊🙏💗🥭

Hi @david liles yep, its because hygiene is important to Filipinos. Though they are not well off, they make sure that everyone takes a bath at least once a day, some 2-3x. Also of course includes brushing their teeth and mostly puts deodorant and some perfume. What's good about everyone, they try to make things as positive as possible. men i miss philippines, been living here in the US since 2018 although i already visited twice its still different. the simple life there no stress unlike here it feels like the bills are never ending! tsahaha
I think people in the west should experience living in these conditions for at least a month. They would not whine and cry so much just because their groceries have gone up by 10%. Here in the UK people are always complaining about their living standards expecting handouts from the government (tax payer) or food banks. I have been to the Philippines and the people their seem much happier with the little they have.
As crianças fazem de qualquer lugar , um paraíso! Nesse vídeo mostra claramente isso ! informative documentary on the poor
areas of Manila.
My hats off to those people living in
some very distressed conditions but
manage to smile and live their lives regardless.
I can only say the Philippines makes some tough folk for sure.

Ang dami madumi n lugar..tiga dyan po b kayo..sa lugar na ito.???
Hi @Alisia Hofmann
nope im not from this place 😊
I think people in the west should experience living in these conditions for at least a month. They would not whine and cry so much just because their groceries have gone up by 10%. Here in the UK people are always complaining about their living standards expecting handouts from the government (tax payer) or food banks. I have been to the Philippines and the people their seem much happier with the little they have.
Hi @Steven Hull
as they say, life is too short to be stressed for too long 😊
You are right. I saw many videos says...Philippine change me! Philippines change my life! thier point of view has changed😂
Wow nice❤❤❤
Wow im glad i live in a rich country canada.

Hi

thanks for seeing the good in everyone and everything ☺️💗
Muito obrigado por tornar essas lindas pessoas visíveis aos olhos do mundo!
Você faz um belo trabalho!
Paz...Irmão !🙏✌😎

So many children, and young adults, people seem to be happy especially the Children .do they have school? Thanks for the birds eye view..
Hi @Larry Hutton
the pandemic made every student go to home schooling.. in this place.. im not sure if everyone has enrolled. They need to have some tablet or mobile phone for the school

Is Filipinos the only people who can be happy in such conditions?
God bless Philippines !
Facinating. I was hoping you'd take us into one of the homes in that lane. Those lines in the gutter. Are they water lines? What type of sewage system do they have here? Those roosters tied up by the leg were something that I found interesting as well.
Hi @SternDrive
the blue pipes are lines for water sources. They still do have potent water source there 😊
Always cleaning your area
