    What a beautiful piece of software, you are a genius. I'm looking forward to implementing this with my band's live rig.

    I prefer to directly hard wire my control surface to my Ableton Live session laptop through Ethernet (I try to avoid WiFi onstage if at all possible). If I connect two laptops running the same session using an Ethernet connection, can I ALSO connect the control surface using the same switch or router?
    Basically, will Ableset be able to sync the two computers AND receive the Ableset control data if I hard wire the entire setup...or am I obligated to use wifi for the control surface?

      You can also hard-wire everything and still run AbleSet in a redundant setup, no need for WiFi :)

    I just recently got Ableset 2 and it seems all good when I use it. The issue I’m to running into is that I’m not figuring out how to use both Abelton and Ableset at the same time without the video that’s in the set list stopping every time I click on them.
    I do know about the link, but what’s the method or setting I need to do if only I have 1 device available to use

      That's a limitation of Live unfortunately - every time the main window loses focus, Live hides its video window. The easiest workaround would be to access AbleSet from another device on your network, like a phone or tablet, so that you can keep Live in focus on your computer.
      If that doesn't work for you, macOS allows you to click into an unfocused window without giving it focus by holding down CMD while clicking. This is prone to errors though as it's easy to forget holding down CMD while using AbleSet, so I'd recommend the first solution.
      I hope this helps!

    Do I need to have two ableset licenses to run this redundant setups?

    • @ableset
      @ableset  5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Each license can be used on up to two computers at once, so you can run a redundant setup with just one 😊

    Can I run a redundant rig with 2 different versions of a Macbook? For example a 2019 macbook pro and a 2012 macbook pro

      That shouldn't be a problem, I do the same in this video :)

      @@nabilsalahuddin6271 I haven't extensively tested running AbleSet in a macOS/Windows setup, but running it on two different versions of macOS isn't going to be an issue

    can i use just a switcher to connect two devices to eachother, or do i need a router as well.

    • @ableset
      @ableset  ปีที่แล้ว

      You can use a switch instead of a router, just make sure that your computers get a proper IP address. You can read more about it here: ableset.app/docs/network/
      I hope this helps :)

    I’m wondering if theres a way to sync ableset redundancy via just playaudio12 and a mioxm? could you use the mioxm to control them in sync with ableset?

    • @ableset

      Unfortunately, AbleSet needs to transfer more data over the network than what's feasible with MIDI, but setting up a network for AbleNet is fairly simple. Here are a few approaches: ableset.app/docs/network/

    Could you not just connect the laptops directly with an Ethernet cable? What’s the advantage of the switch?

    • @ableset
      @ableset  ปีที่แล้ว

      Using a switch allows you to connect other devices to control AbleSet. In this video, the switch is connected to my WiFi network which allows me to use my phone to control both laptops. If you don't need this, you can connect both computers directly via Ethernet.

    Does this redudant setup only work properly if you’re controlling it from your phone or ipad? Or can you still run it from LapTop A and have it control / sync Laptop B

    • @ableset
      @ableset  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hey Dylan! AbleNet allows you to control both computers using the other's browsers respectively. I just used an iPhone for demonstration purposes :)

    Hello Leo, This redundant setup not working for me. I connect all my two computers and iPad in the same network using ethernet cable and also enable Ablenet already. But when I unplugged ethernet cable on my main computer, my iPad doesn't switch IP address to another computer. So I can't control Ableset T_T. Do you know how to fix this?

    • @Chuthasan
      @Chuthasan ปีที่แล้ว

    Can you elaborate on what interface you use to connect the two computers, so that Ablenet is able to detect instabilities and switch from one to the other?
    I don't want to use Playaudio, since we usually use virtual protocols as soundcards, like Soundgrid or Dante.
    Thank you.
