Bird strike does not cause landing gear malfunction, even if it did, the pilot would have power out and dumped fuel before attempting a belly landing...
I just head that they were able to speak to one of the surviving crew members and they said one of the engines blew out right before landing. Gonna assume this is what affected the landing gear. The engine blow out is confirmed by photos while the plane was still in the air.
The airline has been under suspicion for poor maintenance and this aircraft was delayed for two hours two days ago due to engine failure. This may have had something to do with it. But if it hadn't been for the concrete hill, the disaster that killed 179 people would not have happened. 😢
He either tried to go around or he couldn't deploy the flaps, spoilers or reverse thrust at the appropriate times. It sounds like the engines are still at full. A belly landing isn't an automatic disaster. The friction with the runway works in their favour and the plane should still come to a stop. Something else was happening here.
I agree. I timed 9 seconds from touch down to reaching the end of the runway and 14 seconds to impact. The engines appear to be at reverse thrust such as per the engines thrust door being open. Could not see flaps probably why was travelling so fast. No air brakes either? Don’t these planes have manual gear wind down? Wouldn’t traffic control advise there is a wall at the end of the runway? Or the pilot know this from experience. If they landed half way down the runway and travelled 1km in 9 seconds that’s an average speed of 400kph! If they landed with more runway they were going faster!
If they knew in advance there was going to be a belly landing I think the procedure is to contact ATC who will direct the firebrigade to spray the runway with water, if I am not wrong....

It can stop, but the pilot said the hydraulics failed so he couldn't deploy air brakes and flaps which means you're going down the runway at full speed.

It seems that the aircraft's speed was unusually high, and it should have stopped if the engine was off, the spoilers were armed along with the friction of the ground. Definitely, something else was wrong here....
It’s the aircraft failure plus the panic and ultimately the wall. I think nothing could have stopped this accident. Just too many unfortunate events after another. I hope airports would accommodate emergency landing on both ends of the runway in case of this happening again. The wall was the ultimate disaster
The pilots managed to touch down the plane so well without landing gear only to have it run into a concrete wall! 😔 Wonder why the pilots never considered a water landing when they know there's a landing gear issue.
I can’t believe two people survived that. It didn’t look like the power was shut down. Like they were trying to go around again. No landing gear, no flaps? The nose was way too high. It should have been grinding on the runway to create more friction. That pilot was trying to do a second go around with damaged engines. He killed them all.

RIP to the people that died but why doesnt the guy recording have any reaction😭😭. I would be screaming rn if that happened to me
landing gears were compromised, really bad decision to land on an enclosed runway
Are you a pilot
@@paultaylor9498i think its kinda obvious that it was a bad decision, the plane literally blew up after hitting the wall.
@@paultaylor9498 i so agree x999999999
He could have landed in the water. Less fuel, less fire. I'm no pilot but just a common sense. From now own pay attention when the plane take off and land. They tell us about that vest to blow and pull in case there's water. This doesn't apply to this. It's a suicide landing and hitting that wall. I was just in that airport a few days ago and here's my premonition. I kept looking at the gate that says South Korean Air to Bangkok Thailand. Unbelievable and here it is.
@@paultaylor9498 Well it clearly wasn't the right decision
One hell of a video , you wont capture one like this just any oh time , that plane wasnt even slowing down
The camera man didn't even panic or scream about what happened, it seems he knew what will gonna happen. Seems like he waited and record this incident. 🤔😢 No shake at all. If he go out and climb at the rooftop we can't hear his voice any difficulty and shortness of breath from ascending
I noticed . His reaction wasn't human .
👍 놀라지도 않아 의문점이 많은사건입니다 실제가 아니라는 !!
The one filming, no reaction, that's weird...
그렇습니다 일주일전 광주일보에 사건이 그대로 뉴스에 올라온것도
My condolences, my heart just couldn’t stop pounding!!!
They were right there untill everything finished in a second when it hit that wall! Everyone is gone! In a second! The families will never be the same again! Rip to all of those who lost their lives😢
This is just horrible. To think that they landed and almost all survived if it was not for that explosion.
Few days before it was Kazak airline and now the Korea one. I mean seriously we are living in 21st century with the most advanced technology and skilled pilots idk what's the reason behind such accidents but it's horrible 😞
친구, 일주일에 4번의 비행기 추락이 있었다는 게 믿기지 않아😮😮
I live 11km on a flight path to Melbourne Airport in Australia.
Before the planes even get to me, the landing gear is DOWN.
They forgot to lower it guaranteed.
OMG! Jeju Airlines B737 Jetliner crashed into barriers upon landing from Thailand to South Korea's Muan Airport due to landing gears failure ... 🙏 Deepest condolences to the families & friends of the departed ... 🙏🕯🌼🌿
But they still got a handle to open it manuel if they cannot open it with the button. There is something suss about this
@pelinyilmaz8101something is wrong with whole situation
My condolences to all families and friends of those deceased.Rest in peace those who died in the crash
My deepest condolences from Germany 😥❤
Awful to hear the actual loud “THUD” as the belly of the plane hits the tarmac. Deepest condolences to the families. 😢
I don't think that two flyers who managed to survive in this disaster will fly here after in their entire life.
Definitely not. 😢
May they all rest in peace 😢🙏
They couldn’t have directed the plane to an airport with a longer runway?
The runway was long enough something obviously went wrong on attempt
Seems like the plane came in wayy too fast… maybe other issues other than landing gear?
Muan has a 9200 ft runway. Military length.
it was second attempt which indicates some struggles. may could've go around again but seems ran out of options and had to land.
Yet another pilot error, humans are not to be trusted.
Landing speed way too fast, sorry for the loss 😔😢
What the hell is the wall doing there
There is a road on the other side and then right after the road is the ocean
@ very weird
@@djibicissethere is a reason, if there is no wall then people and just walk through the airport
@ that is a short runway for emergency landing
@@djibicisse for landing normally it’s at a normal distance, it seems like something went wrong with this plane.
What a tragedy ! Painful & Heartbreaking !
Too much friction on the ground while landing😢😢😢 Prayers 🙏 🙏 🙏
A brilliant Architect fulfilled his dream of an aesthetic airport with a solid wall at the end of the runway.
Who is this guy and why was he taking video of this airplane at this exact moment ?
Aviation geek? Airport employee? Jsut a random tourist ?
he has right to take video bruh
We just watch 167 ppl died in front of us... rip and may god be with all families involved in this saddest time
It seems that the aircraft's speed was unusually high, and it should have stopped if the engine was off, the spoilers were armed along with the friction of the ground. Definitely, something else was wrong here....
Might be
It’s the aircraft failure plus the panic and ultimately the wall. I think nothing could have stopped this accident. Just too many unfortunate events after another. I hope airports would accommodate emergency landing on both ends of the runway in case of this happening again. The wall was the ultimate disaster
The video is titled moments before, but you need to label it as the actual crash as some will find this upsetting
My deepest condolences. May God comforts the victims' families.
The pilots managed to touch down the plane so well without landing gear only to have it run into a concrete wall! 😔
Wonder why the pilots never considered a water landing when they know there's a landing gear issue.
Deepest condolences to the family of the victims
Heart wrenching. 😢 Rest in peace to all who perished. Speedy recovery for the two crew members that survived this.
I can’t believe two people survived that. It didn’t look like the power was shut down. Like they were trying to go around again. No landing gear, no flaps? The nose was way too high. It should have been grinding on the runway to create more friction. That pilot was trying to do a second go around with damaged engines. He killed them all.
No flaps down, don't know what's going on pilots mind. To Go Around also flaps needed approx 50% down.
@ POH says 40 degrees of flaps, that’s the max flap setting, req for a belly landing. Because you need to get it slow, no brakes.
No matter how many times this is seen its just unbelievable that a tragedy like this can happen in todays world.
My deepest sympathy for the victims and families, at that time of year!!!
REST IN PEACE.
Rest in Peace, all who are no more 😭😢
Why is there a concrete fence at the end of the runway? This endangers planes when they descend on the runway in an emergency.
What idiot put up that barrier at the end of a runway?
Ask yourself what behind those walls. It could be roads , houses etc.....
that is the opposite side of the runway
@@nahanng7791 But it's not. Did you even look at a map before babbling?
@geonerd yes i did. Look on google
That's the worst aircraft crash footage I've ever seen. You can literally see the people flying out
Why tf is there a wall at the end of the runway
that is the barrier between civil villages
@하비에르-x2u why tf is there civilian villages near an airport runway
that is not end, That wall place on entrance of runway.
plane tries landing from opposite direction. maybe some trouble...
@@하비에르-x2u
That airport is close to north Korea.
@mirisqria6545 then why tf put a huge gaping wall at the entrance of the runway and the pilot wasn't supposed to be that low if that's the runway entrance
Either way they got birdstriked on the landing gear and should've used squawk code 7700
I can’t imagine the amount of screaming inside the plane those poor people realising they are seconds away from death. Life is so short seriously.
Oh no. That was horrific pray for all those on board
Can you imagine making it through the skies and end up dying on the runway. Smh! My condolences
Remember, if you don’t know how to fly a plane don’t comment on how to do it correctly 👍
I wish there was a sad button for videos like this. May they all rest in eternal peace 🕊️
WOW My Prayers 🙏🙏🙏 for those who are in the airplane 🛫 And God keep them alive 🙏 and they can be reunited with their love one's!!!
How come someone was already recording when the plane landed ?
예리합니다 의심스러운일입니다 놀라지도 않고 차분히 찍고 있습니다 일반적이지 않습니다 모든것이 의문점인 ? CCP OUT
Wow! So sorry for everyone who’s affected by this. Looks like out of a horror movie
Every time I see that plane hit that wall. My heart breaks for the crew's/passengers families. It's something that can happen at any time. At any airport. Let's pray that the needed changes are made. My prayers and thoughts are with the families.😪
Was there a fuel dump? Why not go the opposite direction? Why landing flaps and air brakes not deployed? Why no foam on runway?
I believe 737 does not have the ability to fuel dump.
Spreading a foam path takes a lot of time. The foam can also cause uncontrolled sliding off the landing strip and increases the stopping distance. For this reasons, the procedure is only used in very rare cases, if at all.
From what I've read, the 737 doesn't have fuel dumping capability.
The speed is like its going to take off. Full throttle!
My assumption is that the pilot couldn't slow down the speed , so he thought of taking off again...
Wrong. Even at the end the reverse thrusters are on.
Ok 🤔@@shivang15
@@shivang15Looks like he tried it anyway. Nose goes all up. Dont say it was the case but it just looks so. Maybe they were in panic and just tried everything. Remember u can see this vid 100 times. They had like 4 or 5 sec to decided what to do and how to do.
RIP
We are not in control of our fate! I literally cried for these complete strangers. There's just no way to make sense of this, and knowing ( if we fly,) we're always at someone else's mercy! 😢😢😢
