I was so thrilled to see you feature the wonderful Lorez Alexandria in your commentary. You are so right that she never got the acclaim that she deserved. I first discovered Ms. Alexandria many years ago, and have several of her CDs, including the one you mentioned, in my jazz collection. She has such a sexy, sultry voice and her phrasing was impeccable. There is one song titled “Where Have You Been?” that is especially associated with her. She also recorded a superb Johnny Mercer tribute album that I had on cassette. I have searched in vain for years for a reissue on that album. Anyway, to close let me say that I enjoy your channel and always look forward to your posts.
Hello Kenny, I love that Freddie Hubbard The Body & the Soul album, it's a joy to hear Eric Dolphy doing some pretty outside stuff as usual. My CD of it sounds pretty good and I hear that it has been recently released on DSD as well. The song Sky Dive by Freddie Hubbard is may favorite tune written by him. There are so many great players that absolutely burn on that song on their own albums like George Benson - In Concert Carnegie Hall (CTI), Wayne Escoferry - Veneration.
Thank you very much for your reviews, I am a great fan of jazz music and I am always looking for new albums and there so many more to discover. Greetings to you from Germany
Hi Kenny, thank you for the reviews. I recently bought some new records, including McCoy Tyner - Fly With The Wind, Freddie Hubbard - Sky Dive and Herbie Hancock - Round Midnight that you have reviewed at some point on your channel. They all sound great. I also picked up Milt Jackson - Sunflower, which is one of the better CTI releases in my opinion. The vibraphone is such an underrated instrument in jazz to me.
Thank you very much for watching my videos and buying some of the recommended albums. I don't think that I have that Milt Jackson album so I'll have to check it out.
Hey Kenny, thanks for sharing your Jazz collection with others,I am always learning of new albums to search for due to your commentaries. I was always a Prog Rock/ Rock guy. My Jazz collection has grown over time.
You have inspired me to open my own You Tube (NONOSJAZZOPHILES) just last week from South Africa. Thank you Kenny keep up the good work always a fan .😊
I love that Freddie Hubbard album. I’ve had my copy since the early ‘70s. I also have it on CD. Great reviews. I’ll check out the Lorenz Alexandria date.
There was a recent reissue of that Freddie Hubbard album on the Verve By Request series.Excellent album ,love Wayne Shorter's arrangements on the big band numbers which I believe was a first for him( on record anyway)
Lorez Alexandria The Great was the standout album of these two. The sound & voice were a good match & I would give the sound and performance a 9 for the time period it came out.👍
Chiming in to support you on your recommendation of Lorez Alexandria. Truly one of Jazz's best kept secrets. I would also recommend one of her later albums: " I'll Never Stop Loving You" on the Muse label.
Kenny, I have many IMPULSE lps. Used to find em in thrift stores and or as cut outs...not happening now. Overall rivals blue note and creed Taylor's label for content..imho. keep truckN Kenny!
I can't imagine the disappointment of being an outstanding jazz musician who had devoted years of intense study, practice and performance to the music, never making much money but at least having access to venues that provided an opportunity to play with other masters of the form. Then along came rock 'n roll and it was all over.
Love Freddie Hubbard, Red Clay is one of my favorite jazz records! Will have to check this one out

mr. kenny, you think you could review some marvin gaye?
Thank you very much for your recommendation 😊
Are you a fan of Mary Halvorson's work?
To be totally honest, I have never heard of her.
I can't imagine the disappointment of being an outstanding jazz musician who had devoted years of intense study, practice and performance to the music, never making much money but at least having access to venues that provided an opportunity to play with other masters of the form.
