Water Inside VW Tiguan Fix

  • Check for this commonly dislodged pipe if you are getting water inside your VW Tiguan. This is a common reason why water will be on the driver’s side carpet or the driver’s seat in a Tiguan. Water stains may also be visible on the driver's side headliner.
The main clip in my VW Tiguan is part number 5N0-880-385-A; this clip is often broken during replacement. The two smaller clips are part number 3C0-867-333.
If you still have water issues in the driver's side footwell, the next step would be to remove the cowl and wipers to get closer to the drain tube location. This is a more complicated procedure.

This applies to all VAG group cars. They didnt change anything to avoid this happening for more then 20 years now. Its crazy.
The tube is actually in one piece all the way, so its usually the top, the tube is getting off of the socket, and its not just 2 spots, its 4 corner of the sunroof.

Thanks a bunch for watching my video and taking the time to share. You are correct as mentioned in the video the train tubes are all around the car. The common area that messes up is the driver’s side A pillar in the bottom part of the pillar. I must have fixed 4 cars with that same issue. Thanks again for sharing!

@@WheelsTips Hmm, i see. Interesting, on cars from around the 2000 its mostly the tube disconnects from the socket. My A3 Audi had the left rear disconnected. I guess this issue is on newer cars, at least on old ones the tube is one piece all the way out of the chassis.

I have water damage in the ENTIRE TIGUAN! Omg I got it restored it was so bad they had to go in hazmat suits. Could this be my problem? I can’t tell where it’s coming from.

My spare tire well fills up when it rains and when i brake it comes in to the cabin. Any tips to check for the tube’s towards the back of the sunroof?

@@WheelsTips Oh, thank you for your hard work and taking the time to show us what the issue is all about. I purchased a car cover from Walmart, and I've been vigilant in monitoring the weather. I cover my car each time it's about to rain. 🌧️ However, I've noticed that despite my efforts, the issue keeps recurring. The problem is that I find the floor soaked even when the car is fully covered. It's driving me crazy. Do you have any idea why the floor get wet even when the car is fully covered ?

Wow that sounds like a tricky situation you have. You are saying with the car fully covered you still manage to get water in the car? Have you dried your carpets really well? Have you checked under your carpets if you have it has truly dried? The sound mats under the carpet can hold water for a very long time, please share an update. Also have you checked all your drain tubes?
