HAHA, right if people don't know this after 40+ years in the business than I don't know what they expect from her. What's so interesting to me is Nona and Sarah didn't have a problem at all with the way Patti sang with them. People just need to hold their own or don't get on the stage plain and simple.
Are you talking about this particular concert that took place? Apparently Diana had to leave for another engagement. I think those ladies are over that. Why would they even decide to do a concert together? All who performed were being themselves nothing out of the blue. Gladys performed the way she always does along with Chaka, Patti and Diana. So that seems kind of weird for something like that to occur. Not to mention they ALL know how Patti is when she sings. And Diana definitely should know
I don't think its deliberate comparing. Just would have been nice to see Diana on stage with them. I'm sure for the 2:30pm she was right there beside all of them. But being an artist and having a benefits concert people wanted to see her at the end like the rest. If you're a pop,soul,rock etc singer shouldn't matter about being out of your element just to show love to her fans.
Not so funny ,Diana bumped her head backstage at the RadioCityMusicHall ...'It's dark back there'...she was overheard. Paramedics were called and no issue was made to distract the evening. A real trouper! Patti said 'you better sing Gladys' with Ms Ross' backup singers the song became true prayer that evening ,from the Divas with "Heart" She has called her friend Only the public is diminished to continue negative NONsence No singers at all can be compared as everyone has different vocal equipment, influences,and appeal
I am not a Diana Ross fan, but I think it's unfair to compare her to Chaka Khan or Patti Labelle. DR isn't and never has been a soul singer. She has a great pop voice and is very classy--she would be completely out of her element on stage with a Nona Hendryx or Chaka Khan.
For a long time Pattie & Diana didn't speak to each other due to Cindy Birdsong defecting to Diana's group. There was some serious issues going on back stage between the both of them, Diana feeling Patti was trying to upstage her.

How was Miss Ross, i heard she was amazing, her entrance was through the crowd. Diana is also on tour, and needed to leave early.
