      Nice, to PC it is a bit on other silent side but you can always boost in post or OBS and for the best sound don't speak facing a solid wall to avoid audio bouncing... Just advice for the best experience
      I tested a bit more especially outside in traffic on my other video:

      @@sparkestudio thanks for the tipps, I am planning to use this on pc only via usb. Is there a drop in audio quality after you boost the audio? If yes, are there ways to amplify the signal beforehand?

    • @sparkestudio
      @sparkestudio  ปีที่แล้ว

      @@vaf3614 if not boosting a ton there isn't a drop but if you can record in 24bit over 16bit audio recording it'll prevent any hiss being introduced maintaining the quality. You'll also love that this mic works with android mobile phones... Unless you use Apple but a USB C to lightning adapter can solve that issue.

    When you mentioned not using the battery I did a few tests. This is power only, no audio. My test showed that the no battery thing is only if you stay in the USB world. I used a USB-C to USB-A cable plugged into a PC , no battery. The Deity V-Mic D4 was powered and recognized by the PC. When I used the USB-C to TRRS plugged into PC, it would only work if the battery was installed. Same thing happened when plugged into iPhone with TRRS. No battery =no green light. Thanks for the heads-up on the USB to USB power, good to know.

    • @sparkestudio
      @sparkestudio  ปีที่แล้ว

      ALWAYS use battery with TRS and TRRS connections. Battery not required with USB to USB only. I tested more noise rejection real world in my review on my other channel, link should be in the video description.

      thank god i see this comment, i dont even know it can power on without battery through usb c, im using this mic on my phone all the time one thing bothering me was it stays on all the time even my screen is off unless i power off my phone. its a good feature for camera but not for smartphone because who would turn off their phone when not using it. so i have to unplug and plug it back all the time and that sucks... now i can leave it stay plugged without wondering the battery life anymore. you solved my problem thanks again

    Great review! About the RFI, is there any interference if you clip on a 2.4 MHz wireless transmitter on the cold shoe mount slide? You were pretty close to the mic where you were testing for RFI, so I'm thinking that the transmitter will seat 2 inches away underneath the back side of the mic, will that get rid of the RFI? I'm looking to get this mic and I want to use it with the "Hollyland Lak Max" wireless system. Thanks!

    • @sparkestudio
      @sparkestudio  6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I would love to test properly for you... I had since cut a small hole to try the mic with a dummy battery and that means blocking RFI is compromised. And now all wireless systems cause RFI 😖

      @@mcchris6917 I setup my mics, I had does the testing before but I had forgot what happened... Hollyland Lark Max "doesn't" work at all with the Deity V-mic D4 and does not even work with the Rode NTG without manual power on and off like I showed in my review of the Lark Max part 1 or 2 video. Reason D4 does not work whatsoever is the mic won't power itself on because the Lark Max does not provide Mic line power.

      @sparkestudio  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Looks almost like My Rode M5 I reviewed
      Checking out some more information I think it might pickup a little nicer than the Rode.
      You'll still need to be very close to the mic but very good off axis noise rejection on the OKTAVA MK-012, the price has went way up in Canada compared to the Rode
      The "SE Electronics SE-SE8" is also very interesting as a general use pencil mic.

    • @sparkestudio
      @sparkestudio  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Never heard of that mic system, I see it is cardioid meaning it should work for an untreated room but you might have to speak up close. The Rode M5 has amazing low self noise, would like a bit more dynamic range and more movement freedom. This is where the affordable $99USD Deity D4 comes in I am not stuck up close to the microphone, the NTG's self noise annoys me at times but NTG is great at rejecting wind noise with it's fur wind muff.

    • @sparkestudio
      @sparkestudio  ปีที่แล้ว

      The Audio Technica AT875R might have been a slightly better choice depending on pricing as a do it all mic. The Oktava when speaking closely plosives easily; don't speak much closer than 8 inches away. The microphone top options for the Oktava for different sound profiles is rather neat. Depending on the task those sound profiles might work very well for you after knowing which head is best for what task... And it is small.

      @@mariusdocea438 when I looked at your channel I noticed you do weddings. that is where use case with the interchangeable capsules could work nicely. I have no clue of how you intend to use the mic, just that having a small microphone seems better for taking to a wedding event than a larger shot gun microphone.
      The sE Electronics sE8 has a nice tone as well. Since you already have the Zoom F3 the low cut of the SE8 built in wouldn't be needed. I do love that the Zoom F3 maintains the low cut after power off.
