Doing remodeling work in Baltimore I had the occasion to work on some very old homes and churches. I've found coins jammed under baseboards and under floorboards from the 1800's and early 1900's. I once found a stash of old cancelled checks and paperwork in the wall of an old church. The wall was in the church office and there was a repaired hole in the wall right next to where the clergy desk was. The pastors over the years just slipped old checks and paperwork into the wall instead of throwing it away. The new clergy was thrilled to see my find and was able to make a full display in the lobby showing the workings of an 1800's church up until present!
