Damn.. it sounds absolutely crushing. And thats just with you doing a few tweaks here and there. Also speaks volumes about the QC. Its becoming more and more of an instant buy..

Seeing you become an entirely self-sufficient music factory has been one of my favorite things to watch. I am also very impressed at how minimal your mixing is. All the moves are important, and nothing is wasted. Thank God you've landed in a creative field, where you clearly are meant to be.

The phrase "I captured my Krackens" was pleasing to hear.
Perhaps a How2 on how exactly we might capture our own Krackens...?

My favorite bit of advice for mixing is “if it sounds good, it is good.” Don’t worry about doing things the right way, worry about what you think sounds better!

You're "knowledge" is DEAD-ON!!!! I've been doing this for a very long time. There are no rules. You got the result you wanted. Very well done sir.

If it sounds good it is good.
Love how you still remain humble - but this sounds better than most professional mixes.
Thanks for the tips - I think some tutorials on how to actually set up side chains and mix busses may be useful for beginners.
    Stay safe, stay metal

Ok, Bea. If you're gonna continue to entertain the thought that you might be doing things wrong, I hope that my mixes will someday sound as wrong as this track does...

Trained or not, this was exceptionally helpful. I'd absolutely love to see more of exactly the same thing as you continue your progression, use new gear and try new techniques. Most viewers aren't masters in the studio. While we may how to get a half-good tone in our mix, we are watching this to pick up on any tips, tricks or ideas - like the Aggressive Drummer kit, where, what & how you compressed, before & after, how you tracked your guitar, etc.
End of the day, it sounds fantastic my dude... and this was right when QC came out. I'm surprised this video doesn't have more views considering you were not only demonstrating the quality you can get from the QC but also using captured gear - all before many folks even received their QC in the mail. That's innovation.
Do you by chance have a link to the Kraken cabs you used in here that you'd be willing to share? I have the 2 you posted in cortex but I'm struggling with both of them.
Congrats on your 2023, new sponsors, new signature guitars, and some of the amazing stuff you've been kind enough to share. I've been able to find answers to 99% of my questions about gear all simply by digging thru your posts. It's all absolutely priceless and I seriously hope you continue because I'm definitely not alone in saying that. If I'm wondering about a plugin, pedal or tone, I literally type my question in Google and then at the end, I just type "Rabea" - and I almost always find some great nuggets -

Amazing mix Rabea! Sounds GIGANTIC! Just a little thing, try the kick/bass sidechain with a multiband compressor that allows sidechain to make space for the kick on the bass only on the freq in which the kick resides, instead of the whole signal of the bass going down. Both things are great, just try both flavors and check what you like more, cheers to all!

awesome video Rabea. Regarding the fabfilter, I think there may be some confusion, when selecting side, it is performing the corrective action on that element and is not moving the sound to that location. For example if you have side mode selected and have created a 2db cut at 1khz,, it is cutting that 1khz from the sides, leaving the middle. If you want to push the guitar to the sides you would actually want to do a slight cut on the mid so that the sides are now larger in relation. cheers.

Hey my dude, I noticed something with your GGD outputting that threw me off at first too when I started using their kits. When you were showing us the sidechain with the kick I noticed your kick was outputting to channel 1-2 in GGD. In GGD (all their kits) channel 1-2 are dedicated to their parallel comp track and there's no way to change that so the kick should start on channel 3-4 and the snare 5-6 and so on. When you solo'd the kick you can hear the parallel track mixed in, if you put your kick on 3-4 you'll get just the kick
Kick ass mix regardless. Love the Aggressive Kit
