    I love this guys mentality towards cycling without power meter, I do the same thing because I want to enjoy the ride way more than chase numbers and compare with others on Strava.

    • @OompaLoompaCycling
      @OompaLoompaCycling  2 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      Personally, I need the power meter to pace myself when I am riding alone so that I do not overestimate my potential and kill myself at the start of the ride.

      @@OompaLoompaCycling I can see the benefit of that, my problem is I'm too competitive and it would just turn riding into competition 24/7. That's why I can't join group challenges on Strava, I learned my lesson this summer with an elevation challenge.

      @@OompaLoompaCycling yah i got the power meter during lockdown last year so I can play trainer at home on the structured training and to keep track of my FTP progress. It is a good training tool to monitor progress and as well as training indoors. For outdoor usage yes it is a perfect tool for pacing and also just to keep track on your performance and tracking tools. Gluck and have fun!!

    +1 for mechanical group and rim brakes. Cycling should be simple as straight forward.

    he is right, right now, almost everything is just a marketing strategy, what is important is you ride your bike and enjoy.. no need to be flashy or something.. what is important is the engine (YOU). Nothing against weight weeny, Di2, very expensive wheelset, OSPW, but all of this is just a fraction of how fast you go.. shed some bodyweight, strengthen your legs and lungs, that is the best weight saving you can get with no extra cost.

      Downsize to get a lighter bike, more nimble geometry, and surprisingly more seatpost flex. Plus it just rides better (I downsize I've found it's a better riding experience).
