    I am a salt-aholic. Just like dad and granddad. My son is one, too.
    F-in-law and uncle were kings of NaCL consumption. One died at 75, the other at 80.
    It's mostly genetics anyhoo.
    They died happy with no salt regerts.
    I shall do the same.
    I refuse to live in fear of food.
    Errrrp.

      I see. Well, in Asia, we learn that Sour, Sweet, Bitter, Spiciness 酸甜苦辣 as the 4 taste, Umami 鲜 was added roughly later.

      He wrote a fantastic book called "On Food and Cooking". I def recommend people to check it out
